Well first off, my motivation for wanting lipo is because I am at my heaviest and due to menopause, it's not going away. I've always fluctuated between 135-150lbs. But in the last 4 yrs, I continued putting on weight (all over), my heaviest 178lbs. I'd gotten to a point where I hated shopping for clothes. My waist clinchers no longer concealed my rolls, tire around my waist, c-section bulge. It was awful. I had a few friends who had tummy tucks. I wasn't quite sure which procedure would give me the results I wanted. I started doing research on Realself last Aug. I couldn't stay off this site. My husband didn't think I was serious until he saw how much research I was doing. Finally I went on a consult in Feb 2017. I wasn't impressed with the staff, was never seen by the DR. Instantly, I knew I wouldn't be back. I went on another consult at a diff facility. I was pleased but not real comfortable with the recommendation. Finally, I went to Atlantic Plastic Surgery/Dr. Davoudi. I was so very impressed. The staff was outstanding Dr Davoudi was amazing!! I was so comfortable with him. His bedside manner was great. He listened carefully to me, my desires & expected outcome. He then gave me his honest opinion and his recommendations. I went with it, as he is the professional and I trusted him. Other Dr's suggested full tummy tuck w/lipo. Dr Davoudi suggested lipo abs, flanks, skin tightening without muscle repair. The difference was less down time and less money. Dr Davoudi perfoms procedure in the hospital, under general anesthesia. That also eased my mind and made my decision to go with him easier. I'm 10 days post and I already see a major difference. I am soooooooooo pleased. My husband says Dr Davoudi told him that he removed the equivalent of 2 liters & 2 soda cans. The 1st day, pain was tolerable. I threw up instantly after taking prescribed tylenol w/codein. So I didn't take it again after that, Extra strength tylenol worked fine. The 2nd- 5th days were the worst. I've slept in a recliner since day 1. It's really the only position you can sleep in. Due to the skin tightening, I have to walk bent over for proper healing. Before surgery, I bought a walker ($4.00 at Goodwill). It was much needed. The binder is the devil!! They make it extremely tight, and it digs into my skin. It continues to roll up at my hips. I've got to wear it 24hrs/day for the first 2 weeks, Only took it off on the 2nd day to change dressings. It took my husband and son to put it back on as tight as the Dr had. Toni, the nurse is awesome. She also explains everything. (The binder reduces swelling and bruising so I was inspired to suffer through & keep it tight, following all DR's instructions.) I came home with one drain. Which I had removed on the 8th day because by the 8th day it was collecting only 30-40 ml which was the goal. i didn't leak much at all from the incision sites. Bandaids was sufficient on those areas. I continue to feel (zapper type) pains on my sides & back. There's still numbness around my back and hips. But this is expected after lipo. Sorry, I don't have before/after pics, but Toni ( the nurse) took before pics and I'm sure she'll take after pics at my 2 week post op visit. I'll ask for them and post next week.

How much assistance would you say you need post op? Would you recommend having someone in house staying with you to help you post op?
