I haven't been on here lately but I'm going to start to post again. its been well over a year and i am NOT happy with my scar at all. I was told to allow it to heal which i have done. now i need to have it revised. Do I go with the same doctor or a new one I guess is the question.

Good luck with your revision! Keep us posted. I would consider a different doctor personally. Unless the original one is working with you on price and you feel comfortable. I think feeling comfortable is key.

my doctor had given me a year to revise anything I didn't like about how it healed, at the one year appointment he checked and said it healed well but it was up to me if there was something I didn't like but you can hardly see any scaring other than right at the point of the pubic area where he cut as a T is a small faint line which no one will ever see it's too low. So all that being said I think for the amount we worked to save money to do this, your doctor should do this for free!!

8 weeks POST OPT!!!!

dgannon02
Wow, 8 weeks have went bye! I will say I am still battling swelling, but I have noticed if I don't eat any salt i am better off. Its super hard but i do try to eat clean.
my results are great. Im not that happy about my scar, but I know it will get better. My wound has fully healed, and i am riding and back to normal daily activities. I have yet to have sex....might try tonight....im a bit scared to have the big "O", and contract my muscles.
I have about three to four different CG, I have one that I wear that is a full body one during the day, Im in a med now. I have one that I use for sleeping, and two that I have for going out and wearing normal clothes.
I also wear a was it trainer onto of those! I love my shape! I will say that. I have stopped packing my belly button.
I sleep on my side and back still. Not on my stomach. I tried to lay on my stomach and it wasn't good!
Other then that....All is good, I have an appt to see my PS in 4 months! I am waiting to get my before and after pics back!

I have a tummy tuck/lipo coming up and I was worried when you mentioned heartburn. Is that because you are much tighter now and everything is more cramped? Also, I am afraid it will affect my breathing as another TT patient said that it took her quite a while to be able to take deep breaths. Did you find it affected your breathing. I sure wish I was at the stage you are right now!

the heartburn was from the tightness and the compression garment. i want the best results possible, so i word tight tight tight compression garments. I still do. I still have heart burn sometimes,I get fuller quickly, so don't over eat or eat anything that is heavy! I drank a lot of option shakes for the first 4 weeks!

6 weeks post opt!

dgannon02
Wow I'm sure you read the same expression on everyone's 6 week review! I never felt like today would come! I'm back to work full time, I'm riding my horses. Just doing arena work at the walk and trot. I actually tried to canter today but I felt a bit weird. ( riding uses so much core) I can bend over to put my boots on, I can sleep on my side, pretty much everything! Except cough and sneeze! Wow when will that get better. I still have an open wound on my left side. Not sure what it is nurse says it normale and will close. It had gotten smaller, but still no stitch has popped out? Not sure how long it takes. Or if it's just wound Speration. Other then that. Life is good. I'm wearing my compression garment 24/7. Still swollen in my hips. My pants don't fit still. I just ordered a medium in my cg. Went from a 2xl to a large and now a med. I'm still packing my belly button. Umm! Scar looks good. It's hard for me to believe that a lot of you are not swollen at 6 weeks! Lol. I will say my down there area finally looks normale thank god! Havnt had sex yet still a bit scared. When did you start back?

Hi I'm six weeks post op too. I have a wound on the left and I've been on oral antibiotics for a week. Over the week I have improved so much - swelling on the left has gone, I'm standing upright, walking heaps - I feel that I'm almost back to my old self. Tests showed that I had a bacterial infection in the wound, not a big one, but enough to make me feel pretty yuck. The nurse also covered the wound with a nice firm dressing which made me feel better as I didn't have to look after the wound. Yesterday when she took off the dressing, we were delighted to see that the wound was dry and nearly gone! The nurse redressed it and I will take antibiotics for another week to be sure the infection has gone. I see my ps next week and I'm hoping she'll say I can travel, as my husband and I are taking off to see the world indefinitely. He's eager for me to be well so we can begin our adventure! Im glad to hear you're back riding and feeling good. Perhaps you could ask for more aggressive treatment of your wound like I did?
