I started with 200cc in the expander on December 24th and have had additional saline added 3 times taking me up to 370. The right breast is a 34D with the implant of 371. Since there is no breast tissue on the left side, I will need around a 700 cc implant to even out the breasts. Dr. Self did not use the incision that was tore opened when I fell. He went back to the original implant site under the breast. Due to the needed implant size difference between the two breasts, he may have to do some minor adjustment to the pocket on the right side. He wants to make sure they have the same amount of drop. I tease him about making sure they don't point in different directions. Have to laugh and deal with things and I am grateful he is so concerned that I will be pleased with the finished product. We are also planning our yearly June trip to Florida so I am not sure whether the expander will be changed for the implant before or after the trip. My husband is disabled and this may be the last year we can go. I dread any more surgery but really appreciate Dr. Self being so understanding about the scheduling around my husband's health. So the next surgery could be in April or July. Then I will have to see what to do about the nipple. Eventually I may have a photo to share. It is just amazing that they found the lump in July 2014 and I hope to be finished in July of 2016. The doctor gets a perfect score, but my fall set things behind. So girls, just because you are feeling good and figure no one will know if you lift that chair or carry a grandchild, when your doctor gives you limits, follow them.

Had under the muscle implants for 10 years and loved every day I had them even though I waited until 65. At 74 they discovered 3 small lumps stage 1 cancer in the left really dense breast that had cause no trouble for 30 years. .A mastectomy was done and lymph nodes were all clear. An expander was inserted and I kept it in 9 months on order to go on several planned vacations. one year later a new implant was put in and a minor uplift done on the other side. Everything went well until my disabled husband fell on my and the entire incision was split open and the implant exposed to air. This was on a Sunday and my surgeon met me at his office 30 minutes later. He said the prognosis was no good due to contamination, but attempted for several weeks to restitch and combat the infection that ended up going system wide. Throughout this I saw him every 3 day. In the end everything had to removed, flushed out and a new expander inserted. This wonderful doctor has been working with me for 18 months and there is one remaining surgery to put in an implant. His compassion, care at all times, determination that I will be pleased is commendable. Also all the nurses at the hospital tell me he is the best and he has been awarded the most compassionate doctor at the hospital more than once. I recommend him highly for any cosmetic procedure.
