It’s finally here - today I got my surgery! I haven’t posted my story yet so a bit about myself
-been thinking bout this for a couple years -always thought if I exercised more and ate right I could get results but not the case so once I faced reality I started exploring surgery
- have 2 wonderful kids - my 13 year old did a number on my lower abs and I gained about 50 lbs and my youngest (11) I carried high so owe her for the upper abs stretch marks!
Was both scared and excited - I have been focused the past few weeks on getting things caught up at work for time away!
Chose to get surgery in Banff- loved dr MacLennan when I met her and her team was excellent leading up to it - accommodated my busy schedule and got me booked in - sneaking away from work isn’t easy this time of year!
Surgery was about 3.5 hours - Nerve block and pain meds working well so far!

Was able to shower tonight and changed dressing- felt good but a bit lightheaded after so had to lay down

How long after did you shower? I sm 2 days in and in so much pain don’t think I can do it.

my surgery was in a hospital so I was overnight and had help - 24 hours after surgery I had a quick shower and a full one the next day - take it easy for sure!

yes - that’s what the doctor recommended- she had me switch to a shaper after leaving the hospital on day 2 - said it has more consistent pressure so better for swelling and more comfortable- still wearing shaper day and night except when I shower

What kind of shaper did you wear, did you like it? Will be following your story as I’ll be going through this in August and have a very similar story to yours (age, kids, etc.). :-)

It was maidenform full control open bust bodysuit- it was like a one piece swimsuit but you wear your own bra - opens at the crotch and the straps I actually just let hang loose under my clothes - was comfortable
