WORTH IT
My healing is still going well, my muscle repair has finally stop hurting, I would say that I feel pretty much recovered at this point, I am easing into more strenuous activities like CrossFit, I am careful not to overwork my abs. I am slowly regaining more feeling. My tummy is starting to look more defined and my belly button which I was worried about is healing well (I love the shape), I still have a little swelling in my lower abdomen and hips. I am still wearing silicone tape day and night. I have been wearing my girdle religiously day and night until recently, I just wear it during the day now, I like the brand from "Design by Veronique" which is sold in BC Canada by: https://nightingalemedical.ca/
The hardest for me emotionally was between 1 months and 2 months post op, I think I was experiencing some grieving for my old tummy, I understand now why it's important to be in a good emotional state before having this kind of surgery. I am super happy now that I went through it, I love my results, it was so worth it! Can't wait for summer :)

You look Great! I will be four weeks postop on Thursday and I'm still slightly hunched! Trying to walk straight but I feel like a tight band inside me is going to snap! Did you get that feeling every time you stood up and walked around? I'm hoping that goes away by the three month mark! I also have been experiencing back pain because of the hunching so I've been doing some massages lately. I did a lot of research but I guess I underestimated the major healing that goes on! You look fantastic!

I am sorry your back is hurting, from what I remember being hunched for such a long period of time is brutal, I was upright by week 4 but still felt pretty tight and swollen, light duty activities like walking helped loosen things up and made it easier to stand trait. Yes I do recall intense sharp pain during the first month when got out of bed, coughed or sneezed, I was also worried that I would somehow damage the work that had been done, the pain slowly got better over time. I still feel a small amount of tenderness, the muscle repair does take a while to heal but it's very manageable and I can do almost everything now apart from intense ab work. It's good that you are getting some massages, my only suggestion would be to go for walks at this point, my surgeon did clear me for yoga and light cardio at week 6, that really helped progress things along. Hang in there all the hardship will be worth it in the end :)

Glad to hear what I am feeling is normal. Almost 7 weeks this Thursday and ready to start real cardio. Hope at my 8 week appt I'll be cleared for more than walking! Did you have lipo? I did not but still have swelling above my incision.

I did have lipo but I now wish I had a little more on my hips :) I still have a little swelling above the incision too but it's only noticeable to me. Hope that you are doing better and that your appointment went well :)

Great review. Wow that is a long long time to heal. I thought standing straight would only be a week. It looked like you had an innie bb before and now its not out but visable. Do you know why that happens

On the first pictures my belly button was a little swollen so might have appeared as an outie, I would say it is an innie now but not as deep as before because I have less abdominal fat.

Your results look great. I am there weeks out and am having the emotional feelings you describe. I am still not fully straight and I have swelling still. Please tell me this gets better.

Yes it will definitely get better, hang in there!

I tried on a swimsuit for fun :) Despite still been a little swollen I am very happy with the result so far. I am healing well overall and feeling good. I am now fully upright and I can go on longer walks. My only concern is still my belly button, it is healing much slower than the incision but apparently this is normal because of the lack of blood flow to the area, my surgeon assured me it would heal.

The surgical tape is off and I was able to see my scar for the first time, it looks nice and thin so far and it is healing well, I started putting silicone tape on it. My only disappointment is that it is higher on one side compare to the other, if think I might get a tattoo at some point to over one of the sides. I would say this is minor compare to some serious issues other people can have, so I am still very happy, my procedure was done very well overall. My belly button is still a little raw and is taking more time to heal, I hear this common since there is less blood flow to that area, I like the shape of it, I think it will end up looking quite natural. I am more swollen now compare to my last photo but I am comfortable, my energy is good, I can't wait to be able to exercise again!
