Still getting use to the new me. It's been really challenging with two children under 6. I haven't been able to snuggle them that's been the worst part. They keep asking me when will I be better. I tell them every day I get better. So, since my procedure I've been doing more and more research on my choice of implant. Getting nervous. It's a bit late to stress about it now. I chose the implants because I wanted to be as natural as possible but I also wanted to get in to running, once I've got the all clear to do so. Now I'm reading about the high percentage rate of rotation in tear drop/ anatomical implants with mine (Sientra) being higher than most. Is that because they are the most used? My PS didn't seem to bat an eye or caution me at all with my choice. I had shared with him how active I am and want to increase to be and he had no concerns. Where can I find some real data? Also, my left breast hasn't stopped to align the scar into the gold yet but the right one has. Should I be concerned? Some responses around highly cohesive on this site say that when the swelling subsides, what you see is what you get. Is this truly the case? It's not drastic and is not obvious in clothes but I notice it naked.

Above should read that the left breast has not dropped to hide the scar into the fold the way the right one has. Overall, very happy. Just looking forward to a year from now once all is settled.
I've done a lot of research on the Sientra teardrop implants since my PS recommended them to. I've heard that the rotation rate is very low. Where did you read that Sientra has a high rotation rate? There's a great website, justbreastimplants.com, that has a lot of good information about your type of implant. There are a lot of women on that site who share their knowledge and first hand experience with Sientra teardrop implants. The info isn't limited to teardrop though. I found the site very helpful. Since Sientra implants haven't been used in the US as long as some other brands I have found it challenging to find a lot of information about them. My PS has used teardrops a lot and is very confident in the outcomes it yields as well as the lower risk of complications. Just be sure to follow your post op instructions and you won't have much to worry about. Oh the ladies on that sight also say the teardrops do settle and soften but it takes time. So when the swelling goes down it's not all what you see is what you get. The implants can still change and soften for up to a year. I'd be happy to send you some helpful links.
Thank you so much. Your feedback is very helpful. I have been writing my Qs down for my 1 month follow up with my PS. I'm not that worried just kind of worried. I have a feeling the medical reviews I was finding were older but I am very curious about long term. So far my results I feel are very comparable to other post op comments from gals with various other types of implants. I've been following the instructions I was given and so far so good.
Good to hear you're satisfied so far and doing well. My surgery is next Tuesday so I have many things running through my mind. I found info on an ongoing long term research study for Sientra. There's an article at the 5 year and 8 year mark. The 8 year mark was Spring 2015 so that's pretty up to date. Although 8 years isn't very long compared to a 20 year study, but it's ongoing and better than nothing. The research is specifically for the US FDA so that's why the length of years isn't comparable to how long the implant has been on the market world wide.

I know you're pretty early in the healing stage but how do you feel about the firmness of your implants at this stage? Some ladies on here complained about how unhappy they are about their implants feeling like rocks and having difficulty hugging others. They can't be that hard right?! Haha
I feel pretty good. Just started hugging my little ones again. Still pretty sensitive though. Only at the 4 wk post op mark. My guess is in 4 more weeks it will be that much better. My natural breasts were so deflated that I'm actually happy having some substance to them. Thank you for the additional info. Ironically I'm already checking out images of women after they've had their implants removed. That can't be a good sign right? The FDA site isn't a very light read either. Good luck with your surgery. Recovery is no picnic. Hope you have lots of support around you. Thanks again for the follow up. Keep me posted on your experience.

First post surgery follow up

Met with my PS today and had my stitches removed. He said everything is looking good and healing nicely. I have to start replacing the narcotics with Advil and Tylenol which I'm looking forward to. I've also gotten the green light to begin walking. I was warned to remain gentle with my arm movements and not to lift anything heavy or do any movements that were too repetitive.
My only concern at this point is I've noticed that my left nipple isn't exactly aligned to my right the way it was prior to the surgery. I didn't mention it to my PS because I'm guessing that my breasts are swollen at varying levels and will be healing at different rates as well. If I don't see an improvement by next week's appointment I certainly bring it up at the time and get his thoughts on weather I should be concerned or not.
My husband says the variation is so slight that he's not really seeing it. I said that it was the first thing that I noticed post op. I did have slight assymyetry prior to the surgery like all women but my nipples always seemed to be in the same positions on each breast.
Oh well. Not going to dwell on it much. I trust my PS and I'm hoping that it will remedy upon healing over the next three months.

Still taking my meds as needed. Feeling pretty good. Introducing Tylenol now more and reducing the prescribed Oxy slowly. The only pain I feel I addition to the pressure is an occasional twinge from my right breast's entry point. Tomorrow is the follow up with my PS and I'm not sure if the stitches will come out or not. I'm attaching some photos taken from yesterday. The rash was really obvious in them. I've been taking showers every day hoping that any of the remaining topical surgical solution would be washing off. Just in case that was a factor.
