I went to Dr. Ghavami for a small problem with my nose that was bothering me. He talked me in to doing more than I asked for. I trusted him to be an expert. He removed too much of the bridge of my nose and made my nose crooked. I had to get a huge loan and I am still paying for it. I waited for the swelling to go down hoping it would get better. However with time, my nose was getting more crooked. To make matters worse, whenever I went for my follow up he was flirting with me, and made me feel uncomfortable. I saw Dr. Simoni, a rhinoplasty specialist in Beverly Hills. Dr. Simoni made some temporary improvements with some injections until I can afford a revision surgery. I now realize I should have gone to a nose specialist in the first place. I feel that Dr. Ghavami does not have enough experience in rhinoplasty that he claims to have. I recommend everyone to do their research before choosing your rhinoplasty surgeon.

I am really sorry to hear that- hope it is just swelling and I truly hope that your nose heals beautifully. Would you be comfortable emailing me before/after pictures? I am getting this procedure done with him- and lately every single review has been negative on his rhinoplasty-major red flag. I am tempted to cancel- the only thing is no one who has given a negative review is posting pix...his before and afters on website and on his video are great- any pic showing before and after would be so helpful. I do hope everything turns out better for you.

Do not ever go to Dr. Ashkan Ghavami please! Go to anyone but him! He has ruined my nose for life and I paid him more than $19K. He promised that he could improve the bridge of my nose, but he overcorrected it, this has to be the worst decision of my life.

Unfortunately, because of patient privacy laws (even if I knew who this is) a surgeon can never comment on the details of anyone's surgery. Therefore, I do not know who this is and if I did, I wouldn’t be able to comment on any specifics to help readers. Without pictures, there really is no telling anything. Please know that I take all patient dissatisfaction seriously, and when the time is right (usually no sooner than 12 months, with some exceptions) I offer a touch up or revision to further improve what may have not gone the way we (patient and I) intended. This is the ethical way to treat all patients and it is what they deserve. I NEVER abandon a patient and like most rhinoplasty specialists , have also done fillers and all surgeons who are ethical and honest offer revisions to their patients when needed. It is critical to comply with scheduled follow ups as the nose is healing so the surgeon that did the work has a chance to evaluate your progress and make recommendations. Having said that, I am blessed to have an extremely low revision rate. To evaluate this anonymous person's claims objectively we would need: --before after photos in multiple views --how long ago was the surgery --were fillers or a revision recommended by me? (One usually knows by 3 months to 6 months if something will need to be done, including "temporary" filler solutions, etc. If I did recommend or describe a possible revision, what made the “patient” go elsewhere when the healing is not even near complete? Fillers can help starting at 2 to 3 months, and surgical revisions at around 12 months. Rhinoplasty is clearly a specialty of mine, which is evident if you go on my websites. I have dedicated most of my adult life and entire career to it. (www.Rhinoplastycenter.com). I am an executive board member of the rhinoplasty society, have written over 10 chapters in numerous textbooks on rhinoplasty topics, published numerous articles in rhinoplasty, operated on a large volume and spectrum of nasal types and ethnicities, and most importantly I am fortunate to be invited to lecture around the world on techniques I use. This year alone, I will be lecturing in San Francisco, Brazil, Turkey, and Dallas on rhinoplasty. My colleagues do not just invite anyone to lecture to them on a complex topic like rhinoplasty without having some major added qualifications to back it up. I am also assistant clinical professor at UCLA David Geffen school of medicine where I help train graduating residents in cosmetic plastic surgery. My patients come from around the country and world and have often done months to years of research before selecting to their surgeon. The thousands of patients who are happy (housewives, celebrities, reality stars, politicians, foreign dignitaries, models, all and every walk of life and profession), who have sent me referrals, often choose to go on with their lives and keep me one of their best kept secrets. It is up to you to do your own research, and always stay away from surgeons who may be quick to bad mouth your surgeon. (I see 30 to 40% revision rhinoplasties from all over the world and I NEVER EVER speak badly about the previous surgeon /surgeons’ work. You should also consult with a few surgeons before making a decision. Look at before/afters carefully (make sure multiple views, especially front views are shown), watch videos, and look up what makes this surgeon an expert in the procedure you want (see above)? Reviews are maybe one tiny aspect for you to consider in your search. For every negative review, there are hundreds or thousands of patients out there who are happy and are the reason you are probably considering the surgeon you are considering. Good luck, do your research, and use your instincts. Warmest Regards, Dr Ghavami
