My experience with Thank You Plastic Surgery was positive through and through — from scheduling an in-person consultation via WhatsApp to post-surgery.
After months of online research, I narrowed it down to 2 clinics I wanted to consult with for incisional double eyelid surgery. My consultation at Thank You with Dr. Kim was by far the most thorough of the two and I ended up scheduling surgery 2 days after my consult for the following procedures — incisional double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, upper canthoplasty, and fat grafting.
During the consultation, Dr. Kim used a tool to map 3 in-out creases on my eyelids. While I came in thinking I wanted an in-out line, I went with the semi-out line to reduce the risk of my eye developing a 3rd crease post-surgery. I appreciated that he tempered my expectations and walked me through the tradeoffs and risks specific to my eye anatomy. When I couldn’t decide, he was happy to walk me through the crease options again and answered all of my questions.
Another thing worth noting is how collaborative this consultation was. I was asked to define what was natural to me, how high I wanted the crease, and which type of line I preferred. He never pushed his ideals on me, instead he asked me to chime in with my thoughts and weigh the tradeoffs.
It has been 2 months since my procedure and I’m happy with my results. A 3rd crease appeared on my right eye at the 2-week mark, but it went away after 1.5 months once the swelling improved.
