The Result of my Double Eyelid Surgery is So Natural That Even my Mom Didn’t Notice It!
I had my double eyelid surgery using the partial incision method in August with Dr. Kang, and I’ve been so happy with the results! Growing up, I’ve always had some sort of double eyelid, but the shape was inconsistent and changed daily. I relied on tape to maintain the crease throughout the day, but after using it for about 10 years, I decided it was finally time to get the surgery.
Although I knew the procedure costs way less in Asia, I chose to have it done in the US because I value the transparency here, and I wanted a doctor I could easily reach out to for post-surgery follow-ups.
During my search, I consulted with two doctors. The first was a celebrity surgeon who recommended the suture method. However, he casually warned me that the suture line might break in a few years, requiring another procedure to fix it. I wanted a more permanent solution, which led me to Dr. Kang. He recommended the partial incision method—a less invasive option than full incision but more durable than the suture method. I knew Dr. Kang was the one the minute he recommended this method. Also, later it turned out that his pricing was more reasonable than the quote I received from the other doctor.
My case wasn’t too complicated since my main goal was to recreate the crease I had been maintaining with tape. From the first consultation, I felt that Dr. Kang completely understood my goals. He demonstrated a deep understanding of the nuances of my facial features, often pointing out details I hadn’t even noticed about myself.
The surgery itself went smoothly, and my downtime was about one week. Amazingly, I think my eyes started looking very natural just one day after the stitches were removed. I had to hide the fact that I got the surgery from my family because they’re very against plastic surgery, but the result is so natural that even my mom hasn’t noticed to this day! Maybe she still thinks that I have my tape on all day long haha. I also recovered quickly and was able to travel internationally just three weeks after the procedure.
I really appreciate Dr. Kang and his entire team. The nurses were so sweet, attentive, and supportive throughout the process. If you’re looking for a doctor well-versed in Asian aesthetics, I highly, highly recommend Dr. Kang!
