Great Experience. Worth Travelling Interstate.
Just over a week ago I underwent asian double eyelid surgery with Dr Choy and his team at Zilver Lining clinic. Results are still developing, but overall I am happy with the experience so far. Dr Choy and his team are professional, caring and really take the time to find out what you really want.
I'm a mid 20s female of chinese background, who was born with a very shallow hidden crease. I had always felt that my shallow crease didn’t suit my face shape and other facial features. Since teenage years I had used temporary double eyelid products such as tape and glue almost religiously. Over time this had also caused the skin on my eyelids to prematurely age and slightly sag. With both these problems on my mind, I decided it was time for a more permanent solution.
Ideally I wanted a skilled plastic surgeon with experience in asian eyelid surgery, but there were few and far between where I lived. Luckily Dr Choy and his team were more than happy to facilitate my surgery being an interstate patient. They were flexible with dates and appointment times, while also giving me the option of an initial phone consultation, which ultimately helped me decide on Dr Choy and his clinic.
Dr Choy really took the time to find out exactly what I wanted and what my expectations were. At the same time he didn’t compromise my safety, as he would advise the most suitable and achievable option based on the natural anatomy of my eyes. The procedure itself was expectably the most challenging part. Luckily Dr Choy and his nurse made effort to maintain a relaxed environment by allowing casual conversation between us and regularly checking I was comfortable. After the procedure Dr Choy took the time to show and explain exactly what was done during the procedure, which was a very helpful level of transparency. I will also note that the whole process was very streamlined and hassle-free for an interstate patient, and I’m glad I travelled for the quality.
Having this operation done means I no longer need to use temporary double eyelid products everyday. I find the surgery has not only given me a higher crease but has actually changed the shape of my eye to a softer more doe-eyed appearance. It is still early days and the results are still developing, but I look forward to a new life with my new eyes.
