Dr Benjamin Burt upper and lower eyelid surgery fail

Photo tells you he story I feel. Post op for surgery to remove upper eyelid hooding and lower eyelid wrinkles. $$$$ spent with a poor result. A Thankyou to all the other victims of Ben’s work who reached out to me letting me know I clearly I’m not the only unfortunate one.

upper and lower blepharoplasty failure with Ben

I had upper and lower eyelid surgery with Dr Benjamin Burt back in late 2020. The pre-op consultations were very positive. Benjamin was very confident in his abilities with an arrogance about himself, as he reassured me of a satisfactory result and if not, reassured me that he would perform corrective surgery to a achieve such a result. If he was as good as he claimed to be, the arrogance didn't bother me. I was simply after the removal of mild excessive upper lid skin (hooding) and in particular to concentrate on the lower lid wrinkles that made me always look very tired, which family and friends always made comment on and had affected me deeply, but they were not to know this. I worked hard and long shift hours, so they assumed I was just working too hard. Benjamin reassuring me he would perform corrective surgery post initial op if the result was not satisfactory, was the main reason I followed through with the procedure, confident the significant sum of money for the surgery would be supported by a good outcome which Benjamin reassured me would be the case. I was very wrong!!. Approximately 4 weeks post op my parents commented on how tired my eyes looked as did some friends, unaware I had already had the surgery. I still looked very tired with not only significant wrinkles still under my eyes but asymmetrical looking eyes, which were previously symmetrical, and this remains 2yrs later. On initial follow-up consultation with Benjamin post op he agreed he could have done a better job and my eyes were slightly asymmetrical. When I questioned corrective surgery, he re-directed me to the skin care clinic in his offices to commence topical creams to smooth out the excessive wrinkles that still remained at further expense to myself. When this failed a second consult resulted in Benjamin resorting to illusionist tricks where he moved me into direct sunlight and held a mirror above my eye sight so I had to look up, causing my lower eye lids to bulge and thin out the wrinkles. When I called him out on his trickery and treating me like a fool, he become very hostile and berated me to his receptionist. Benjamin has never since contacted me or offered to perform corrective surgery to fix what he admitted himself was an unsatisfactory result and I would not want him to now, he should have offered a full refund for the procedure given the operation failed to improve my tiredness look and gave me asymmetrical eyes instead. A red flag I should have seen coming that I have never seen in a surgeon or doctors pre-op agreement unlike that I recall in Benjamin's, was a threat to take legal action against patient's who write negative reviews. This experience was on top of being made to wait alone in a 'medical store room closet' in a patient gown at the Windsor Private Hospital, as medical staff walked in continuously prior to my op. I have never felt so humiliated and embarrassed and wrote this in a hospital review form the hospital itself sent me. No apologies or acknowledgement from the hospital for their poor treatment and no apology or offer by Ben to correct my post op result when he himself claimed he could have done a better job and would offer such a service.
