A Perfect Experience!

This is an experience that I can't be happier with. A picture is better than a thousand words - just check out my pictures if you want to know about Dr. Wong's professional ability. I have definitely achieved what I wanted.
I will break down my experience later, but before that, I want to tell people who are considering any plastic surgery this: Do your own research and make sure what you want. Me as a married, late-20 male has my own needs that can drastically different from yours. I'm a fully grown man that’s in a stable personal relationship, and can properly acknowledge and handle the reactions from strangers or friends. I wanted to improve my appearance to make my future interaction with new friends and colleagues smoother or easier - if it can at the first place. Therefore I decide for myself to have a hybrid shape. I don’t need a more exaggerated parallel shape as a working professional, nor do I want a more modest taper shape because I can handle my old friend noticing my change.
The doctor can give you suggestions but it should be you that make the final decision. I chose Dr.Wong because I need an Asian doctor that is familiar with asian patients and shares a similar aesthetic standard with me. You probably are thinking the same if you are an Asian looking for double eyelid surgery.
I did these procedures: 1) medial corner ?????? 2. Upper eyelid muscle correction (??), 3) remove fat under my eyelids and 4) double eyelid.
Here is my experience throughout the journey -
1. Pre-surgery consultation
The consultation happened on the day before the surgery. The doctor tried to use tools to simulate the double eyelid but because of the fat underneath that needed to be eventually taken out, the simulated result doesn’t provide much reference. So my point here is that it’s normal to run into this. Don’t panic.
2. Surgery day
The surgery lasted a while - it took about 5 hours from me stepping into the operation room to me getting off the table. I think there was probably at least one hour spent on the marking - which is the doctor drawing lines around my eye to mark the incisions etc. As I mentioned above, I did a lot of things, especially the medial corner expansion. Dr.Wang is very patient on this part, and I really appreciate her for that. Her level of attention to detail is amazing.
3. After care - immediately following surgery
Dr. Wong met me again after the surgery and gave me clear instructions about the actions I need to take. Meds, what to use at what time etc.
4. After care - mid to long term
Here is what makes me think I chose the right doctor. Everyone will have a different recovery process and progress. My eyes are healed perfectly now but during the process, I had this little issue where my right eye, during a normal blink, could not close entirely, and thus always feels dry. During the first 2 weeks I didn’t worry too much because it was still early. Then maybe 2 months into the recovery, I was still having this issue, and I started to panic. I would search on google for some explanations or read people posting about their failed result and freak out. I emailed Dr. Wong for many times when I get frustrated about the info I found online. Despite all those things I found were probably wrong, the doctor has always been patient with me. She would tell me what I was looking at isn’t really my case, assure me things are recovering as normal and remind me about things to do. That may not sound like much, but the relief from such attention is the best I can hope for during the recovery.
Dr. Wang has given me the best experience I can ask for, and I will definitely work with her again in the future if I feel unsatisfied about my face again lol.
