How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

I'm in my late 20s and will be getting a Breast...
I'm in my late 20s and will be getting a Breast Augmentation. I'm 5'4 and 104 lbs 32 A. I'm only looking to add, what I call, "a little bit of boob." If I come out a B cup, I'll be happy with that. I don't want any extra attention from strangers when I wear low cut tops, and I don't want everyone I know to be able to see I've had a BA. I just don't want to look like a child when I take my clothes off, and I'm getting married in a year so if I'm going to do this, now is the best time. I also have a fairly bony chest and a small amount of breast tissue. I've been to a couple of consultations in Chicago and 215 CCs make me look like I'm wearing my push up bra, I think 235 CCs with a moderate profile may be what I'm going for.
I'll be documenting my journey through a BA by Dr. Sergio Alvarez at Mia Aesthetics in Doral, FL. I found Mia Aesthetics on facebook, after seeing their advertisements for BA specials, I followed them on instagram and researched them for a couple of months. Finally in October 2017 I sent in my photos for a virtual consult and I was contacted by one of their coordinators the next day. She answered all of my questions and they were very flexible with scheduling my surgery.
I paid around 10% for my deposit, which would apply to my surgery at the special price if I booked it within 1 year. I thought that was a very generous amount of time. I called back about a month later after researching Dr. Alvarez more and being really satisfied with his work and reviews online. I set my surgery date for January 24, 2018. I was told 30 days before surgery they would send my lab order, this ended up being between Christmas and New Years and I didn't want to wait on booking my medical appointments (my PCP is always pretty booked up) so I emailed my coordinator who got it sent over the same day. I got my blood work done at Lab Corp and got an appointment with my Primary Care Physician for a Medical Clearance letter. Luckily they got the lab work directly from Lab Corp and sent it all over to Mia Aesthetics in time and I was cleared for surgery. After that I paid my remaining balance which is due 15 days before surgery. The only extra thing I'll need to pay for is Cell Saver since my hemoglobin was low (under 11.5 I think), which is $500 paid the day of surgery.
From what I've been told their timeline works like this:
- Must be in town the day before surgery for pre-op appointment, the day before the appointment they will schedule the time with you. The email I received says to be in town by 1 PM.
- Surgery time for the next day will be given at the pre-op appointment. You need to arrive an hour before surgery, or they can charge you by the number of hours late you are. (who would want to be late though, right!?)
- The surgery should be less than an hour for just BA
- If you're not staying in a recovery home, a companion over the age of 18 must accompany you after surgery. They asked for my friend's phone number to call her 15 minutes before I'm finished. Not sure what they do if this is not the case but you definitely need help getting home/to your hotel after being under general anesthesia.
- You'll need to stay in Miami for at least an additional 5 days after surgery (so 7 full days total with pre-op, surgery and post-op appointments)
I saw a few reviews that some people weren't getting very quick responses, but so far everyone at Mia Aesthetics has been kind, responsive and consistently answered all of my questions within a day if not the day of and none of the info has changed. I'll add before and after pictures and more info in a couple of weeks! Can't wait to meet my new girls!
