I’m 22 years old with no children. My weight has always fluctuated as teen and unfortunately it took a toll on my breast leaving them as a saggy C cup. I’ve looked into a breast lift with implants for a couple years and decided to go with Dr.Alvarez from Mia aesthetics. I went in to see him for a consultation and he was very warm, friendly, and most importantly honest. I voiced my concerns with him and even showed him a few “wish pictures” and he reassured me that he would be able to give me what I wanted, which was 450 under the muscle round high
profile. My experience with the staff was amazing before I made my deposit. Once I paid thats when everything went down hill. They called me 5 days before my surgery to tell me I needed my medical clearance form immediately, when they should have told me two weeks prior resulting in me having to call out work for a emergency appointment. Fast forward to the day of my surgery which took place 11/21/17. I saw Dr. Alvarez he marked me and we went over my wish pics and confirmed that I was getting a breast lift with 450 silicone under the muscle round high profile. First few days were obviously rough, but what made it worse was I couldn’t see my breast because they bandaged all over, but they looked good from what I could see. I forgot to state I had an anchor lift as well. On 11/28/17 I had the tape and dressing removed by Dr. Alvarez and I hated my breast instantly . My right breast was bigger and perkier than my left. The left breast was slightly sagging. My incisions weren’t clean either, the incision under my left breast is longer and wider, my left breast isn’t full on the sides so I was left with hanging skin, while right breast is full on the sides. I noticed my breast looked small so asked for my chart to reassure the correct size was given and of course it wasn’t, he gave 400cc when we confirmed 450cc, they were not round either. Overall, I was not pleased with anything and wanted to cry. I voiced my concerns to Dr.Alvarez and he stated that they’re still swollen and need time to heal then we could discuss revisions. I headed to front desk to set up my next appointment and ask for my warranty card for my implants and I was handed an empty envelope. So I went back to the desk and told them my there’s nothing inside and they proceeded to tell me they lost my warranty card and I should take a picture of a form they have with my id numbers! I threw a fit and the card suddenly appeared 10 minutes later! I enraged with my experience and treatment.I cried everyday for a week straight, I spent so much time, money, and energy just to hate my breast again. As the weeks the past they slowly started to sag more and more by week 3 my breast were already saggy again similar to my pre op breast. I was distraught and depressed because that was $6,000 down the drown and took out a medical loan to pay it because I wanted it done so bad . I decided to get another opinion from Brest surgeon to confirm I wasn’t overreacting and he reassured me I wasn’t and confirmed my lift was done incorrectly and the implant was not placed under the muscle as it should, it was placed on over the muscle, thus causing the breast to sag and the pocket needed to be closed on my left breast. He encouraged me to go back to Dr. Alvarez and discuss revisions. The following week I went back to Dr. Alvarez and i respectfully explained my concerns and that Id like a revision. He was very cold, mean and dismissive of me, he claimed he didn’t see anything thing wrong and that my left side of my breast looked like that because it’s fat that needs to lipoed. I was in shock and couldn’t believe he said that to me. I simply thank him for his time and walked out the clinic and haven’t been back since. Mia esthetics is very unprofessional and i don’t recommend anyone to go there. Now I’m left with a $6000 debt and sagging breasts!
