At the Airport on my Way to Santo Domingo, for my Surgery with Duran!!!! Dominican Republic, DO

Sorry, it has taken me so long to write this review, my recovery has not been as easy as I hoped it would be. I have so much to say, I don't know where to start.

I guess I'll start with my experience with the consultant team Bella Vita. I was very disappointed in their services, other then helping get my surgery date, they didn't do much else for me for my $300. I was hoping that they were going to give me a more information that would help me with my trip. After I paid them for their services, they only contacted me again to give me the quote from Duran and get my $250 deposit for her, and it took them a whole to even do that. I was never able to reach them by phone, I emailed them to ask them to help find me a recovery house, and they sent me a list of recovery houses, and recommended "Real Recovery Armonia". That is all they did for me. I expected them to be a lot more hands on with helping me plan my trip. I wanted information on what airlines is best to use for traveling after surgery, I wanted them give me information of things that I might need on my trip, I wanted to feel that they cared, and I didn't. They never emailed me to see if I got there safely or to see how my experience went. One of the girls from the recovery house I stayed in said that Jazmine from Bella Vita, gave her a email of what to do when she got to the airport and a email with a prayer on it. I was surprised, because all the other girls who stayed at my recovery house who use Bella Vita said that they had the exact same experience as I did. I felt so unprepared on my trip, and because I didn't do a lot my research on RealSelf myself, because I planned my surgery really fast, and I didn't read many reviews, I expected them to tell me most of the important things I needed to know.

I didn't know that I was going to have to wear dresses everyday. I brought a lot of comfortable clothes like pajamas, sweats, shorts and t shirts, comfortable pants. I only brought 3 dresses, and I didn't know dresses were all that I could wear due to my drain I had to have. Luckily my recovery house washed my 3 dresses for me as I needed them to.
The biggest things that I needed to know that wasn't told to me was, that I needed to bring all cash to pay for my procedure. When the recovery house contacted me, that told me to bring all cash for my stay at the house $835, I was prepared to do that. None of my emails from Dr. Duran or Bella Vita said that I needed to bring cash to pay for my procedure. I think that it is crazy to travel to another country with $5000 dollars cash on me, so I would have never did that without being specifically notified that that was what I had to do. I was shocked when I got out there and was told that they couldn't charge my debit card. There were no Wells Fargo out there and the banks out there were only willing to give me $1500, so I end up having to have my money Western Union to me. And I had to have my surgery a day later then what was planned.

My recommendation on using them is unless you need them to get you an immediate date ( like within month), then don't waste your money with them. They are not very helpful, and you can get your own date.

The last time I made a post I was still trying to figure out what doctor I wanted to use, I knew I wanted Dr Duran, but I wasn't sure how to get in contact her. Someone told me that the easiest way to get in contact with her is to use to consultant team Bella Vitas, so I did. There services is usually $150, but I knew I wanted to get the procedure done ASAP, so I paid the extra $150 to become a VIP cline and get a earlier surgery date. I called them in May, and they got me a date for June. June 24th, tomorrow. They also made my reservations for my recovery house. My plane is about to board now, I am very excited, this is my last flight, I left from California and I had to take 3 flights to get here to Atlanta, but next stop Santos Domingo. I will keep you guys posted on how things went. Thanks for the support!
