Hi Real Selfers, ok so this is going to be a lengthy review for my revision and buccal fat removal done in the Dominican Republic, hopefully i am thorough enough to help anyone seeking a Doctor and/or other info.
Ok so I am an An African American patient with a very thick nose. I had a previous rhinoplasty procedure in NJ on 4/17/14 in NJ . I won't go into details because you can check my previous review and before and after pictures and if there's anything you still want to know i don't mind answering

After my first procedure, I was extremely happy and it was definitely a big improvement. I still wanted to improve my nose by making the nasal dorsum (the nose "bridge" ) a little more projected and my nose a little smaller by shaving some of the bones down. Everyone including my bf thought I was crazy because my nose looked so good, but I was the one staring at my imperfections and although I am my biggest critic and can be a bit of a perfectionist, I knew that my nose had room for improving. I was so happy with the work of my first Doctor that I wanted him to do the revision but he wanted over 2x the initial rhinoplasty and I wasn't willing to pay it. That was because he would of had to go in my ribs to get hard graft for my nasal dorsum.

Choosing a Surgeon for anything on the face shouldn't be done solely based on price but it does play a big part. Again, I had consulted with over 10 doctors and for some reason I wasn't exactly sold on them. This had nothing to do with the price. I never thought I would have had a nose job done in DR because I know that they specialize in body procedures more than anything,and wasn't impressed by their nose jobs, but I got lucky.

In February, i was looking for a good Doctor for lipo in DR and came across DR FG's reviews. While checking his before and after pictures, I noticed that he also does the Buccal fat Removal procedure (removing the fat pad from the cheeks) that I really wanted done. The most affordable price that I was able to get for that procedure was a Dr from Manhattan who quoted me $3,400. This procedure helps reduce the look of chubby cheeks and doesn't take long, but is very intricate and not many doctors perform it. To see that Dr. FG performed this was very impressive. It told me that he was a special doctor and from that alone I booked him for a buccal fat removal, breast augmentation , and lipo for March 18. For some reason my email wasn't going through and I had to call him personally on his cell. I was also glad to know that he spoke perfect English and that there would be no language barriers between us. I used another email and as promised, he sent a quote. At that time, he only had about 5 reviews but they were all great and positive reviews so i wasn't worried about anything. I should have checked my hemo before going to DR and didn't, and because I wanted to avoid getting a blood transfusion, I ended up having to leave one procedure out and it was the buccal fat removal. (I havent gotten a chance to do that review yet, but upon request I can)

After countless online consultations with Doctors about my nose, I decided that I would trust Dr FG. I put a lot of pressure on him, letting him know that if he couldn't give me the outcome that I wanted, that he should be honest with me because I don't want another revision. I also showed him a few wish pics, (which most Doctors hate because sometimes the expectations are unreal, but I still feel like wish pics are important to give the doctors an idea of what you want) He said he could and quoted me for 6500 for the buccal fat removal AND revision rhinoplasty. This might seem a lot for a DR doctor but he had to take cartilage from my ear. When you take into consideration that my previous DR wanted 17,000 and another Dr. wanted 3,400 for my buccal fat removal, 6500 doesn't seem half as bad, AND i received a 20% discount since this would be my second time going to him, so i ended up paying 5,200$.(plus insurance and heparin shots ($300) made the total 5,500)

Needless to say that my procedure went well, everything was good. I was very happy with my results and he told me that I shouldn't get any nose jobs anymore. Thats something that I can't promise but what I will say that I will wait 2 years instead of one like I did this time. Dr FG is amazing and I can honestly say he is the best Dr. in the Dominican Republic. he had an expertise and bedside manners that surpass any doctor in the US and he is very safe and honest and doesn't mind turning down a patient if need be. Also, he is the only one that i know who sees their patient every day after surgery. He already has had enough of me and made it clear that he doesn't want to see me again lol. As stated before, when i first chose him, he had about reviews and now he has over 60. He probably won't be able to respond as fast and because he only sees 1-2 patients a day, you might have a wait time but he's worth it

My first set of before an after pictures are a day after surgery and 6 weeks, he told me that I still have a long way to go with the swelling so I will try to post after 6 months, and a year, or sooner upon request.

For anyone wondering, I stayed at Serenity Recovery house, they are really good, in a safe neighborhood. Small, upscale condo with 3,4 rooms. The staff is excellent, food is so-so. the rooms are very modern and everyone has their own safe next to their bed.

At this point you are probably seeking a Dr. and might be in over your head in trying to find the "right" one. Trust me, I do extensive research and stalking before picking a doctor and its definitely worth it. Thats why I think its important to share my experience, like others have done, to help anyone that I can. With that being said, ANY questions, comments, or concerns, please ask away. So I've been ask for more pictures. It's now two months post op. Most of the swelling had gone down. I say most because doctors say it would take 6 months to see final results so I'm waiting but I'm happy with the results this far. The pic on the left was taken a week before surgery. The right two months after. No pain. The healing process was easy. Enjoy
