Recovery swag part II

Ok.. Let's try this again.

I was discussing yesterday about how recovery is an emotional rollercoaster.. That's because one hour you'll feel great and then the next hour, you'll feel down, in the dumps, in pain, swollen, fat and just miserable lol.

The absolute WORST part is the when you wake up from sx..

But I'm gonna start from the beginning.

Prior to sx, I was stressed out and overwhelmed with work and personal life. Things weren't going too well with the guy I was dating, an old flame was still lingering in the picture, and some strange transitions were taking place at work. I felt like my boss and co-workers were subliminally trying to make me feel guilty about taking a 2 week vacation to just "relax". But whatever, it's my vacation hours and I would use them however I pleased. I was also worried about not being as financially prepared as I had hoped. I was paying for this sx by myself. AND in addition to the cost of the sx, I have life expenses (rent, car note, insurance, utilities, cable, phone, school loans etc). I had to put on my big girl panties. I wanted this sx, so I had to figure out a way to make it work. I had a total of $3800 cash and an additional $300 in my checking account when I flew to DR. The sx would cost $3500, the recovery house would be $590 (9 days and 7 nights). I would not be charged for the night of sx bcuz the clinic keeps patients overnight.

On the night of Feb 1st, my sx buddy (who lives close by) came over and spent the night because we would be flying out early on the morning of Feb 2nd. That night, I told her of my financial shortcomings (I would be short the money for post op medications), and she calmed my down and offered to cover me. Whoo hoo! I quickly packed up my things, we got about 3 hours of sleep and headed to the airport.
We had a connecting flight in ATL that we almost missed due to bad weather. My buddy and I raced through the airport to make our flight to DR. Although we were cutting it close, I decided to stop by an ATM machine to get out the remainder $300 in my checking acct. I stick my card in the machine, enter my pin and select the amount of money I want.. *Error message* Huh? I try my card 2 more times, and keep getting the same damn error message. I was irritated! Why did the only ATM machine in this big ass airport have to be broken?! Whatever, I decided I would just have to get the cash in DR.
A few hours later, we arrive in DR. The ladies from the recovery house (Dominga and Virginia) have a welcome sign with our names on it. We meet up, kiss on the cheek and head off to the recovery which was approx 15mins from the airport.
The next morning, Feb 3rd, we head over to CIPLA for bloodwork and a consult with Dr. Duran. Oh and conveniently I had gotten my period that day! Lol.
Prior to traveling, I didn't get any blood work done in the states, I simply had hoped for the best and took all my vitamins religiously.
After our blood and x-rays are taken in the lab, we head back to Duran's office to wait on the results.
Duran's office is packed! Ladies of all ages.. Bandaged up, and stuffed in fajas. Others there for a consult, and a few hopeful walk-ins looking to have sx.
Some of the ladies know each other because they are staying in the same recovery houses, and others just make friends in the office. Everyone is asking each other what procedures they're getting, or how many days post op they are, or how they feel and just sharing info. One of the girls mentions that being on your cycle can cause one's blood level to drop, and that Duran will not work on anyone with a level less than 11.
I start to get nervous. I also hear more stories about girls that were turned away for various reasons.. Infections, low blood levels etc. I start to panic silently.

Our lab results return, and my blood level is a 12.7!! Thank God!
Duran finally gets to my buddy and I. My consult is very quick. She looks at my body and asks about my previous lipo. She tells me that I don't have a lot of fat in my belly :( she says she will try to get whatever she can from my back and midsection. I ask her about trying my arms, and she shuts that down lol. She says my arms are muscular and have no fat. She tells me to show up early tomm (Feb 4th) for sx.

Grrrrrrr!

So I just typed up a really long post and for some reason the post didn't go through! I'm too tired to re-type everything again so I'll try again tomm or the day after. It's nap time for me lol

On my recovery swag!
