9 months later...

I apologize for the long delay before posting, but life has a way of pulling you back the more you try to go forward. I had some personal issues, including my recovery and my dad having a stroke and surgery.
Anyway, I'm sure what you really want to know is how are my results. The short answer is that my ass is great, my stomach not so much.
I think I got the perfect size butt for my body. 1500 ccs in each if I remember correctly. It doesn't look too big or too small. It looks like I could have been born with it. Still holding at 47 inches despite losing 30 lbs from my PR surgery weight and sitting on it all the time during my recovery.
My stomach is horrible for a couple of reasons. First, the swellin where I had the faja burn has not gone down all the way. It has gotten hard. Idk if its scarring under the skin but using an electric massager dailymay have helped but not 100%. Also there are 2 small scars where the skin was broken. Second, my lower stomach is uneven. I voiced my concerns about it to Dr Baez before leaving DR and after but she said it was just swelling and it would go away but it has not. I believe she had trouble maneuvering around the long scar I already had from when my appendix ruptured. It seems like more was taken out from one side than the other. I was never going to show my midriff anyway because of the scar so its not the end of the world, but when I wear tight shirts I think its noticeable. Third, it looks like she missed lipoing part of my stomach directly under my belly button. Everything else is pretty flat, but there's a little pooch when I look down.
Overall, I'm happy with the results. I bumped into a male friend I hadn't seen since surgery and he wasn't sure if my butt was that big before or not. I told him it looked bigger due to my weight loss and working out. He seemed to buy it. Exactly what I was looking for.."Hmmmmmmm?" and not "WTF?"
I would recommend that anyone going for surgery specify to your doctor about how you want your scars to look and try to do dissolvable sutures if you can. The scar where my drain was and one on my lower back are very noticeable. Again, not the end of the world but better if you can avoid it.
Pics to come as soon as I can get some clear ones.

Questions about scars?

I've been using Mederma faithfully a couple times a day on my incision sites. I also have ScarAway but I haven't used it yet. Can anyone tell me the time frame for scars to start fading and what's the best way to minimize them? I don't know if I should be trying BioOil or cocoa butter or what.

24 days later

I've been having a lot of technical difficulties with my recovery starting with my faja cutting off circulation in my arms to the point I was unable to wear it. The owner of my recovery house brought it to 3 seamstresses to get it adjusted but none of them wanted to be responsible if I was unhappy with the changes. My host ended up doing some edits that helped. Long story short, if you're very tall, carry some bra extenders with you. They'll save you a lot of grief.
I also had extreme light sensitivity. Almost any time I was in a lit room, I would get a headache. I ended up staying in the dark in my room most of the time or wearing sunglasses whenever I ventured out.
I got a wicked faja burn in the middle of my chest. Dr Baez gave me a cream to put on it but that meant that I couldn't wear my faja all the way up because it would rub the skin off again. I ended up having to wear my faja halfway off which meant constant swelling and no compression on my back.
I did buy a new faja that did a great job with compression and had sleeves so I could leave the top unbuttoned so my burn could heal. That faja put too much pressure on my drain site and contributed to even more pain and an infection.
All in all, I had quite a few setbacks in my recovery but I'm seeing progress. My stomach looks pretty flat, which amazes me. I have hips. I wouldn't exactly say hourglass, but I'm still impressed. Also, my butt is a good size even though I've been terrible about sitting on it. It doesn't seem like 1300 ccs to me, but its way more than I had before and it suits my frame.
Overall, I'm happy just to have made it through this experience.
