DiVa vaginal rejuvenation
I've been dealing with the horrors of urinary stress incontinence since my late 20's. I'm now 36 and was just fed up! Every sneeze, cough, or laugh, would leave me peeing my pants. I wasn't very interested in wearing pads or diapers. Yuck! It was happening a few times a week. Sometimes a few times a day. I also suffer from chronic urinary tract infections. I'd seen some articles on social media and tv about laser rejuvenation. I started to do some research and look into the best possible procedure. I wanted to make sure I was seeing the best person using the best device. As it turns out, the DiVa laser is the only FDA approved procedure for stress incontinence. There are actually peer reviewed articles available. I then began to look for the best practitioner. I came across Dr. Thomas Buonassisi's 8 West clinic in Vancouver BC. I booked a consultation and met with Suzanne Power. The specialist laser and cool sculpting technician. She immediately put me at ease and went over everything in detail. Talked about the benefits, possible risks, which were very low, and we had some laughs. It's not always easy to talk about your lady bits and peeing your pants, but Suzanne was very professional and knowledgeable. She's very well educated and has obviously put a lot of time and effort into her training. I liked her immediately. After we went over all the details, she determined I would be a good candidate for the procedure. I booked my first procedure ASAP. We hit a snag as I'd just started my period that day. Of course! Life always out to foil my plans! She did an exam and wasn't sure if we could go forward. Because the laser is attracted to water, she wanted to make sure the procedure would yield the best possible results. It happened that there was a leading gynaecologist in town from California she was able to call. It turned out we were able to move forward. I felt super bad and embarrassed that she had to basically mop up my insides. She was totally professional about it and it's clearly not an issue for her. She numbed me up with a lidocaine gel after a short and gentle examination. Away we went. The first procedure was about a 2/10 on the discomfort scale and I tend to be sensitive in that area. We chatted and laughed while the laser did it's thing. She kept checking to make sure I was comfortable. The first cycle of the laser is nearly impossible to feel. The second cycle which goes a bit deeper into the tissue felt a little ticklish with some minor stinging. It's more of an unnatural sensation rather than a painful one. It was over in a few minutes. I bought some amazing Skinceutical products of which she was super knowledgeable about. (I'll get into that in a different review). I booked my next appointment for a month out. Since the first treatment, I've only sneezed and peed one time and it was very minor. I was absolutely amazed and so happy! I couldn't wait for my next session. I just had it yesterday. It gets a bit more intense every time. Usually 3 treatments are required at 1 month intervals. Then once a year or so depending on your body. This time the discomfort was about a 3.5-4/10. It was definitely tolerable and it's over so quickly. She made sure I was ok the entire time. I will update after I'm a few weeks into the latest procedure. As for afterwards, I had some minor spotting. No other negative sensations or anything. I just have to wear a pad for a couple of days. Listen to her aftercare instructions and you'll be fine. So for any ladies who are considering this procedure or are having issues like me, I highly recommend going to see Suzanne Power at 8 West Clinic. I can't say enough great things about her! Thanks Suzanne.
