Not Smiling at New Dimplex

Do your homework before you get this procedure. It’s been six months, and I have tiny scars and permanent indentations on both sides of my face. This is not what I was looking for. The procedure was very painful. Dr. Chang did one side of my face, and left me sitting there for almost an hour before doing the opposite side. By then, The numbing agent has started to wear off. I was in a lot of pain. This is not what I was expecting. I hade leaving the house.

Also, I found some more helpful information on real self from a Dr. Jonathan Kulbersh who is talking to a patient who didn’t like her results at two months but has helpful advice nonetheless:
“Answer: Be patient, you are still healing:
Fillers in the area will help smooth the indentations at rest if you cannot wait on your healing. You are only 2 months out from surgery and your body is continuing to heal. I would continue to wait to see if the dimpling will improve over the next couple of months before undergoing more procedures. If you cannot wait, a hyaluranic acid filler can be placed temporarly to help smooth the dimple while at rest. As far as your scarring, you are again still healing. I would ensure that you are using a good sunscreen, scar cream, and you may need an injection of medicine if the scar is not behaving properly. I would talk to your doctor about this, but the scar will continue to improve over the next year. I hope this helps.”
Sorry I’m blowing up your feed! I just want to help ease whatever pain I can so you can leave your home with confidence again.

Positive Update. Feeling Relieved

Member of Dr Chang’s staff says the doctor will review my case since to address my concerns. I really appreciate the quick response and effort to ensure my satisfaction. My primary concern is the bump on my right cheek. I’ll keep you all posted on the outcome Fingers crossed d. Thank you Dr Chang
1) How much did he charge you? I know the average cost is typically $1500 but I think I saw on his webpage blog that it is anywhere from $4500-$5000 which is insane if he can’t guarantee results.
2) Did you get any infections during the healing process? I know there is a doc in Portland that used to do them but all the reviews seemed to be infections and less than desirable results.
3) Did you reach out to his office about your dissatisfaction? I know a major risk could be what you’re experiencing now, without many options of a quick repair but I just wanted to know if they validated your concerns. Also, you have probably looked into what to do next but I found a question on real self about reversing the effects at this link here https://www.realself.com/question/correct-bad-dimpleplasty
Again, thank you for being so brave and sharing your story so that you can help those of us considering this procedure to rethink whether or not it’s worth the risk. I’m sorry you feel so bad right now and weren’t treated well during the actual procedure.
