Diastisis, Tummy Tuck, Lipo, Dr. Mark is Amazing

WORTH IT
I had 2 babies, 10 years apart, both were born c section.
My belly never went back to normal, it was really big, especially after a big meal, I was so self conscious and uncomfortable all the time. I wore baggy cloths to cover it. Years passed and I tried everything, diet, exercise ect. Then I found Dr. Markarian and he knew exactly what was wrong ! I had diastasis, my abdominal muscles were separated! I had the surgery to repair them, along with Lipo on my sides and a tummy tuck, I was not expecting the amazing results that I had, especially at my age (56) ! Dr. Mark is very experienced , with a gentle hand, he has a wonderful bedside manner, I now consider him a friend, and he’s easy on the eyes. Highly recommend

You look amazing! Enjoy
You look really great! May I ask you a couple of questions? Your "before" situation is similar to mine. My diastasis recti gap is 5 cm at its widest. Did you or do you still suffer from other health issues like bladder incontinence and chronic constipation? I think this weakness in my abdomen is causing these issues which I never had pre-pregnancy & birth. And if this could be resolved along with the cosmetic aspect, I will more seriously consider having this procedure done. Thank you.
I have been working with a pelvic floor physical therapist since last July while I try to get in for a DR repair surgery consult.

The issues you describe are exactly what she has been helping me manage. I cannot tell you how many GI doctors and specialists I have been to and how many tests and scans I've had this past year, trying to figure out why I have chronic constipation and a weak bladder. NONE of the GI docs (except one young resident) will even acknowledge DR as a contributor. I was passed around to 8 different GI docs and the last one referred me...to a pelvic floor PT. Full circle, as the PT was the one who originally referred me to a general surgeon for the DR repair, and then the general surgeon referred me to a GI Dr.

My PT said that because of the separation you have a weakened core. When you have a weakened core it puts more pressure on the pelvic floor until eventually your PF is trying to do all the work of the core. What starts out as too tight of a PF, turns into a weak PF bc its been in a tense state for so long that it just can't anymore, and then you start seeing the bladder issues. Also, if you have a weakened core and a separation, you don't have the intra-abdominal pressure needed to maintain normal digestive motility, thus chronic constipation. I'm in an online DR group, and alot of women who have had the surgery say it's a night and day difference in constipation, back pain, hip joint pain and abdominal pain. Definitely all related to DR!!
