3+ years, 1 pregnancy, and still looking great...
WORTH IT$6,000
It’s been over 3 years since having my lipo and I’m still incredibly satisfied. I went through a pregnancy and never gained the weight back on my hips. Don’t get me wrong- I gained a little padding everywhere, but never regained that unfortunate pear shape I once dawned. I’m now back to my pre-pregnancy weight and hips look the same as they did pre-pregnancy. For me, it was totally true what they say about the fat cells not coming back once they are removed.

I could not be happier with my decision to get liposuction on my saddlebags (inner and outer thighs). I have always been petite, and very thin from the waist up, and then again from mid-thigh down. My hips, however, have been quite large since puberty. I've always been insecure about my saddlebags and have done everything I could to try and make them smaller. The only time that I felt even sort of okay about the size of my hips was when I was 15 lbs underweight, which was not healthy. At the age of 29, months before my wedding, I had had enough, so pulled the trigger and got my saddlebags removed once and for all. I wanted to put my wedding dress on without stressing about how the form-fitting bottom would look.
The recovery was pretty easy overall. I was in bed and on the couch for about 3 days, and then was able to limp around. I got the surgery on a Friday and was traveling for work the following Tuesday. I was still limping around at that point, but I told everyone that I just had a really tough workout. I would say by day 7 I was able to walk completely normal with no pain. The swelling was probably the worst part, but that peaked around day 3 or 4 and then slowly went down from there. After about a month, I was able to work out. I could jog for a mile with ease, but did have a little soreness the following day- most likely from swelling a bit because of the increase in activity. It's been almost 3 months since the surgery and I have absolutely no pain, swelling, or nerve sensitivity.
I am so glad I had the surgery done. I look SO much better in pants, and wear a pencil skirt on every work trip because I am just so happy that I can wear them now!! I feel normal finally and don't look at other girls with slender thighs, wondering why I was born pear shaped.
If you are thinking about it, do it. Do your research and go to reputable plastic surgeon with before and after pictures to show you.

Hi! so happy i found your post. I had liposuction of my thighs, hips and belly on the 29th of september (about 1 month ago now). First day post-op i was so surprised by the amazing results i saw, my legs were finally skinny, because i had the same problem as you had.. I am still healing, but i still see my old figure somehow.. When did you start to see the final results? Also, i was wondering what kind of diet suits best after liposuction. I am vegan and eat mostly fruits and grains. But i can pinch my belly again, which i couldn't the first weeks post-op.. I am constantly worried about food and if i am healing the right way..
Give it at least 2 months. I noticed a difference pretty soon after the procedure as well, as I didn't have that dreaded point on my outer, upper thighs anymore. I was still sore and a bit swollen until about 2 months out though. Also, I feel the best about my results when I put on the clothes that I couldn't wear previously (jeans and pencil skirts) and feel great in them. So keep the reasons why you had the surgery in mind when evaluating your results. Nutrition-wise, I try and eat a lot of protein and vegetables and eat things like low-fat popcorn and kashi granola bars (these pack the most protein for the least amount of calories and sugar without sacrificing flavor). Have you read the blog Summer Tomato (summertomato.com)? A lot of good articles on how to eat healthy without dieting. I try to maintain that type of food mantra. Eat fresh and drink lots of water!
One last note- in regard to final results, I am still getting there. I am most likely about 90% there, but I do have a few small spots at the upper portion of both outer thighs (the pear-shaped point where the most fat was removed) that still get sore every now and then, which makes me believe there is still a bit of swelling in those areas. I have heard that it can take up to 6 months for the results to be final, but my guess is that in another month I should be good to go, as the areas that still get sore are very small.
Yes! Thanks for writing a review and for posting pics. You look great!
