HELLO GORGEOUS! You look amazing!!! Love seeing this update. Did you have a great time?! I keep wondering if it will be weird for me to wait a bikini after years of avoiding them. I've bought several now post surgery but haven't worn them yet (weather) - I hope I'm able to rock it like you!
February 24, 2018
Thank you. We had a great time. Of course I had to put spf50 on my belly button and so got a little burnt everywhere except my belly button and had a huge white ring around it so ended up wearing a one piece the rest of the so because it bothered me. I look forward to when the scar fades and I don't have to worry about the sun. At first it felt weird wearing a bikini but then I was so excited to be able to wear one again. Eventually I am going to get a tattoo of a dragon starting under my right breast and and the body will cover some of my right side and then the tail will cover my bikini scar. That is going to hurt a lot and of course still have a ways to go until I can get it.

I bet you will look great and rock it in your bikinis.

I am 3 months out right now and doing good. I am just now able to do more with my workouts. Planks are challenging but getting better. I don't swell anymore unless it is period time. As I am starting to get feeling back I get tenderness in my scar. It kinda comes and goes. I still am numb in the middle of my stomach. It is sensitive to touch sometimes and I hate the feeling. I am glad that I did the surgery though.

You look sooooo great! I'm super scared to try planks (I'm 10.5 weeks po). When did you get back to doing them? I've been exercising everything else but nervous about ab work.
January 21, 2018
I only started a couple of weeks ago. Some days are easier than others and some days I just don't have the strength at all. My husband is very encouraging and just tells me to continue to try and the more I do it it will come. I try to but some days it's a little painful.
February 21, 2018
Wow! You look great! I am scheduled 4 weeks from today with Dr Robbins! I can't wait to have a flat stomach! Any tips for me? I have read so many reviews on here. Some have incredible pain and some do better than others. I can't believe how different your tummy looks!
February 21, 2018
I read so much before my surgery that I just prepared myself for the worse. I even made myself sick to my stomach a lot with reading what some people were going through. I went into the surgery very calm and tried just not thinking about it. They did all my before things and then took me back to the operating room, I laid down, they asked me a question about my kids and then I remember nothing until I woke up. I loved that it went that smooth and I didn't feel nervous. I would definitely recommend taking your medication. My husband set an alarm and made sure that I stayed on it like clockwork. I didn't have any problems and would do it all over in a heartbeat. On reading some of my posts I know you can see that I had anxiety over taking the binder off for showers and my appointment but I just kept telling myself that I would be fine and eventually calmed down. The biggest thing is you will swell and you will swell bad and it feels like forever that you are swollen but it will get better. My back hurt really bad from the bending over and even after I was able to stand straight because my stomach could not support what it used to. I would recommend an electric recliner if you have one. It worked wonders for me. The bed did not feel good at all for me but others they have done fine. I know everyone is different. Any questions you have I will be happy to help. Any specific questions that you have at all? My main advice is to just try not to let it all get to you. Just remember that you have been wanting this and you deserve this. It does take time. A lot of time. I was just telling my husband that it has only been a little over 4 months and it seems so much longer ago that I had it done.
February 21, 2018
I think I will be the same way. I have had some major surgeries in the past and a c section. I am more worried about being down for so long. I am pep talking myself into not doing anything I shouldn't and to not overdo it. My sister in law is a nurse and is taking off the first 3 days to take care of me. I am so glad to not worry about my drains, meds or anything like that! I have had 3 huge babies and I am 5'2. I have to buy bigger pants to fit over my stomach. Did you get a toilet riser? I am looking into a walker as I see a ton of people said that saved them. I have wanted this for so long and finally asked myself what am I waiting for? I tried all exercises to fix my DR but the dr said chances of fixing it were slim. I just can't wait to go to the flat side. It will be so strange to look down and not have this extra flap of skin!!
February 21, 2018
I did not get a toilet riser. I did ok when using the restroom. I also didn't use a walker but maybe I should have to help with my back. If you use one you will have to let me know how it worked for you. It is so nice when I sit down and don't have the extra skin popping over my pants and yes looking down and seeing a flat stomach. I still have some discomfort on my hips when I wear jeans sometimes not all the time. Sometimes I am more sensitive then other times. I do wish that the numbness in the middle of my stomach would go away though. I hear that can take a long time. It just feels weird sometimes.
February 21, 2018
Also definitely don't over do it. You will feel it and it doesn't feel good at all. Rest up as much as you can. How long are you off of work?
February 22, 2018
I am taking two full weeks with plans of going back to work on a Thursday. I can work shortened days on Thursday and Friday. I figure I will play it by ear.
February 22, 2018
Yeah I took 2 weeks off and then went back. Ended up trying to do half days and then was a lot better after 3 weeks.
February 22, 2018
our waist definitely looks narrower. is that from the muscle repair or did you do lipo? your after results are awesome! I keep looking at our pics and the results look great!
February 22, 2018
I did not do lipo with mine. I just had the tummy tuck with muscle repair. I thought for sure I wasn't going to fit back into my clothes for the longest time. I think I was finally able to start getting back into most of my clothes at 3 1/2 months. I just went and bought some skirts until my clothes fit me again.

Thanks again. I am hoping to continue to keep it looking better and better. I am very happy with my surgery.
February 22, 2018
I am not doing lipo either. so you are telling me to not try on my clothes for a long time....lol. has our weight stayed the same or has it changed? I am so happy to find someone who is happy with their surgery and has great results.
February 22, 2018
Yeah definitely do not try on your clothes for a long time. Ha ha ha although you could be totally different than mine. My weight has pretty much stayed the same but I can tell a major difference in my stomach and that I am happy with. I also don't eat very good. I am one of the pickiest eaters ever so after surgery and staying away from salt was a hard one for me but I did better than what I thought I would. I read all about clean eating afterwards and that was very hard for me since I don't eat much. Of course I eat everything that is bad for me. I am very happy with my results and will be happy to answer any questions along the way or after surgery. I know you have to be getting excited but nervous at the same time.
February 22, 2018
Yes! I am so excited and nervous too. I have 3 boys ages 18, 16, and 12. They are pretty self sufficient but they never see their mom down so this might be a hard one for them. I do love salt but I am sure I can make myself stay away from it. I have read many people mention no salt and clean eating. I know at pre op you get a list of things you will need and prescriptions. I am guessing it gets real then....:) I am planning on living in some very comfy leggings and cardigans for a couple of months!
February 23, 2018
Did you just use the binder or did you use a compression garment? I have seen a few people mention the bonita garments as being fantastic. Curious on what you used.
February 23, 2018
I used the binder that they gave me at first and then I used the Bonita Garments. I ordered a large, 2 mediums and 2 smalls. Lets just say that you really don't need all of those. On Bonita's website that it what they recommend but I didn't end up using a medium or small one so I would not order that many. I started out on the first set of holes and then I got to move to the second set of holes. Once I could tell that that compression garment was too big then I would move down a size.
February 23, 2018
Bonito recommended the 4000 for me.
February 23, 2018
so which one did you order? there are many to choose from. is it easiest to call them and have them help you with the sizing? how long until you switched over?
February 23, 2018
I ordered the 4000. There are a lot of them to choose from. I had emailed them and told them what I was having done and they emailed me what one I would need. I would say about a week and a half or so of wearing one I switched over. About halfway through I was able to pull in to the second set of clasps. It was nice knowing when I was moving down to the next size. I felt so swollen so so huge for so long.
February 23, 2018
ok I will email them. yes that is like a milestone when you can tighten it! I will email and see what size they think I need.

6 week follow up

Blazing15
Well it's been 6 1/2 weeks since my surgery. I am doing good and definately starting to be able to do more. I still have swelling but mostly at night. I still have not really been able to sleep on my sides because my incision hurts. It looks really good I think but it's just sore. I was told at 4 weeks to quit wearing my compression garmet except when doing sonethimg for long periods of time. I want to start getting more into exercising as I have noticed a muffin top. Not sure if it is swelling or fat building up but it's got to go. I did try on a bikini for the first time in like 20 years. I have been doing small things here or there but nothing too crazy yet. I hope everyone is doing good on their recovery. I feel like the long recovery is the hardest part of it all.

Hi, how are you doing?
December 9, 2017
I am doing ok. I am 8 weeks post op now. My stomach is still very tight and the numbness feels really weird but I am doing ok. Not able to exercise much. My scar is still very sensitive. Even trying to lay on my side hurts. Ready for the recovery process to be done. I am not a patient person so that part is the hardest. How are things going with you?
December 9, 2017
Are you still swelling? I am so scared of the recovery process, sometimes my nerves betray me and I freak out lol but then I read alot of reviews of how it is worth it and I feel better lol
December 10, 2017
Yes I still swell but mainly because I am on my feet nonstop. The biggest thing I still have is that my stomach tenses up a lot. When waking up, while sleeping and going out in the cold. The surgery was nothing for me it's just the long recovery process but it does get easier and easier.
