I am 47, have had 2 kids, no scars and no stretch marks just not happy with loose skin and no muscle tone. I weigh 110 and I am 5'2 and have always worked out with no real change to my mid section. I am currently 2 weeks post op this Friday and I am walking with a cane since I am still very hunched over with some pain on and off. I go back to work on Monday and I am not looking forward to it. I have posted some before pics and I will post after photos soon and I will update as I can.

Yes i really trust dr. Campanile and he did my 3rd BA and they are awesome just some weird scar tissue had to be broken up and he added mesh to just one of my breasts along with the TT and lipo. I just took some post op since I am 13 days out. Would love to follow ur progress as well.

Your going to look awesome. I have to get the mesh with my revision because I've had my old ones for almost 20 years. I'm getting the MM on September 25
Happy healing

WOW there is SUCH an improvement!

It would be useful to have silicone strips to cover the incision and aid in healing. Strips have a psychological benefit as they cover and obscure the incision and they reduce the likelihood of keloid scarring.

I had to a TT with Dr.C in December and walked hunched over for what felt like eternity!! I know the pain you're feeling and I hope it gets better for you. I love Dr.C and his staff but I've had issues since I had it. No health issues just not 100% satisfied with how high my scar turned out. I was hoping it could be lowered but I don't think it's an option

I can relate my scar is low but he had to do one down from my belly button which I am not happy with and he said it was something to do with scar tissue from my belly button ring so he could not avoid another scar.....I just hope it fades. I am not happy to hear u are still having issues since december. Do u mind me asking what other issues other than ur scar and when exactly did u walk upright? I was told 4 weeks but 2 weeks in and I am ready to scream and still need pain pills when I get up in the morning. Thanks for ur support and hope to hear back from u.

I also have a line from my belly button to my scar- drives me crazy!! It took me awhile to walk up straight. My surgery took 5 1/2 hours and I was miserable for a good two months. Sorry that's probably not helping you!! Dr.C is amazing- I did my research before I chose him. I'm just not happy. I hit a depression mode because I felt like after $11,000 I should have looked better but instead I stressed out and now I've gained 10 pounds. I can only communicate with him through emails and phone calls because I live in Texas. He said if I did a revision it would only lower my incision a centimeter and it doesn't seem worth it to me. My actually incision looks fantastic I'm just not pleased at the overall look. Looking at your pictures though I can tell its gonna look great. Just give it some time.

I am definitely at a depression level already and I am only at 2 weeks not 2 months. I know everyone is different and I am sorry your overall outcome was not positive after spending that much. I hope my scar fades and I start walking upright but I cry every 30 minutes it seems and I am in so much pain it is just not tolerable. Thanks for your support. I see Dr. C Tuesday so we will see what he says but he can't really change my situation at this point.
August 29, 2015
Hello again I hope your doing better today! Did Dr.C use Exparel for your procedure? Just wondering because it seems this is the latest greatest and in my consult it wasn't mentioned.

Hi ....I am not doing much better but thanks for asking. Not walking upright still need meds n depression is killing me. Dr. C did not mention Exparel I will have to look that up. I see him Tuesday so we will see.

I understand the depression but don't get down!! I was 5'8 165 when I had mine done. I had twins and then a third child and lost 100 pounds total so my stomach was severe!! Judging by your pictures your swelling is not bad at all!! Mine was terrible!! Dr.C is gonna tell you to give it more time which is the truth. Some women have one and a week later are running around while others are in pain and swollen for months. It all depends on the person. I can promise you it's gonna look great in another 4 weeks- to me it already looks great at just two weeks post op. Hang in there- it'll get better!!

Thanks for the support I really needed that. Actually I feel a lot better today since I started walking with my hips more forward yesterday and it made the world of difference in my posture. Still in pain but I am trying to stay off the pain meds since I get nauseous and constipated. I will try motrin and go from there. Cant wait to see Dr C on tuesday and get all my concerns addressed. I go back to work tomorrow so wish me luck..........I actually drove yesterday which was not as scarey as I thought it would be. I was going to buy a used walker for work but since I am standing a little more upright I will stay with the cane. It is amazing how many different stories there are on here and you are right......everyone is different. I hope you find a way to deal with your scar that makes you happy.....I just know that either way for me it will be worth it in the end since I was so unhappy with my body before. I think I am over the " oh no what did I do"......Thanks again I truly appreciate the encouragement.

19 day post op and feeling better everyday. Almost upright now but still need a cane ......I am back to work and am exhausted when I home. Hoping by Monday next week no more cane maybe.....I am keeping my fingers crossed. Had my follow up yesterday n got more meds that I still need n Doc said I am doing well......I can start massaging hard spots on belly but not the incision of course. I will post more pics soon! Thanks everyone.

When did you lose your steri strips, dressing over your incision?
User Avatar
September 7, 2015
I did not have sterile strips just surgical glue that is still hanging a bit but most of it has flaked off. I just keep covering it with gauze so it won't dry out too much. My Doc said at the 6 week PO he will give me scar care.

Miss Nentm...it took me 28 days before I could stand up-right and another month after that just where I wasn't so sore. I'm also 5'2 , weigh 112lbs & 53 years old...had 2 children. Maybe,it's our size that makes this recovery so long? I had a BLA done at the same time...it was brutal.

It has been rough but glad to see that this is not only me. I hate sitting at work ......all my muscles tighten up n it takes a while for them to relax. This will all be worth it in the end right?

Absolutely...

I am apx. 5'2" and 104lbs, had 3 C sections and two abdominoplasties with mesh screen to repair torn muscles. I don't remember being hunched for more than a week or so, I think it is hugely important to take your pain meds, you will heal faster if you are not in pain and are able to move freely.
It is disconcerting to know you were opened up and it feels as if you might tear open if you put too much pull on the incision so I get the caution but it is important to push yourself a little.

Still need cane but walking almost upright now....still need meds but not as often. I think by Monday I might evolve into a human and walk upright. ....it would be nice to say goodbye to my painful back! I feel much better than last weekend for sure and I can wear all my clothes fine despite still swollen. The glue on my scar is still hanging in there but at my 6 week check up doc will give me scar stuff....can't wait for the healing. Here are some pics....don't really see a change but I have been staring at it in disgust sometimes.

Looks good! I can't get the glue off of my incision either. I'm only about 10 days post op. I also can't wait to wait upright. It's driving me crazy to walk like a hump back. :) Happy Healing to you.

Your shape is so pretty now (from bra to panty line). It has nice curves. I am still boxy, boyish looking. Maybe that is how I will end up, I hope not!

You will rock a two piece next summer!!

I was considering getting a tummy tuck but after seeing the pics and hearing how you sound I will just continue to work out as hard as I can and find other ways to improve the appearance of stomach. No offense to you I think you are very brave and strong. I am not. I had to have a c-section with my last child and it was the most pain I ever felt. The incention is very small and much lower than yours and I couldn't walk upright for 3 days cried for 3 days and it's been almost 2 years and if my son jumps on my stomach I can feel a lil pain. I hope your scar heals and your pain goes away. It is not a good feeling.
