This was first laser treatment. I am 41 years old and have never had even microdermabrasions. My skin had some freckling started and I thought this would help me stay on top of it. Also I have minor wrinkling and slightly larger pores from aging. Dr Huang and her staff are amazing. She has very little turnover in her office and is well known in the Denver area. The waiting room is always very busy when I am there.

The procedure itself was a lot more pain than I expected. So nurse told me that is regular since it is my first time. Afterwards I felt burning for at least 4 to 5 hours. I was given Gauze and told to soak my face in a mixture of one teaspoon of vinegar and two cups of water. This helps a great deal. I did not use any appointment or aquaphor for the first evening. Since my skin was still burning when I used it I felt like it burned even more. For the first few hours there was swelling and I was very red. After I rinsed with the solution several times my skin was visibly darkened. In the morning the burning was gone however the grid marks from my pictures were still very visible. Before I went to bed I used the enzyme. Mint and aqua 4. The burning sensation was nearly 100 percent gone except for a few spots. I washed with Cetaphil several times. I was careful to be very gentle. I did not want to scrub off any skin and cause additional irritation.

I'd like to follow your post. I'm not liking those grid marks. It looks like you were burned and will have hyperpigmentation. What did your dr say?

Here are picture almost exactly 48 hours later.. I tried to capture realistic lighting... That didn't wash out or darken the blemishes....

So things have improved a lot.. I have done 2 cycles of the vinegar and water mixture.. Patient sessions of soaking the gauze and then laying it over my face... Maybe for 5-30 seconds then repeating.. I use the gauze to gently wipe my skin.. Dead flakes are apparent and are beading up and washing away also.. Some small spots where it looks like the skin wasn't ready to shed, but I sloughed it off bled or became pink.. I was care file them spot treated those areas with neosporin hoping it would accelerate healing.. So far I'm improving by the hour..my pictures look different, but they were all taken within seconds of eachother, with same lighting.. Just different lighting.. I'm showing all so readers can see how lighting/angle can alter perspective.. The ones that look worst are the realistic view....

Amazing result! Keep us posted please. I'm Asian also and heard many bad stories of how laser treatment could backfire Asian skin since we have more pigmentation. I've been hesitated about laser and extremely skeptical about IPL eventhough I've done it 3 times. Your story is so encouraging! Please continue to update your review and tell us more of the journey :-)

Wow, that's quite quick.

I'm glad it worked out for you in the end, though I'm still surprised there were grid lines after the IPL. I've always been able to go back to work after IPL because it only targeted the dark spots. Still it sounds like the nurse knew what she was doing. Everyone is a little different.
