Compassionate, Competent and Complete Care

I had an extremely traumatic experience that resulted in extensive facial and dental reconstruction. I developed a phobia of dentists due to the emotional stress and neglected my care for almost 20 years. To be honest, I didn’t even know where to start when I decided I needed to take back control of my life and health, I just knew that I couldn’t look in the mirror anymore and see the remnants of my past injuries. What was most important to me was being in the care of a compassionate person. I needed to transcend the “patient/doctor” relationship and feel like a real person that was being cared about. I have no interest in being treated as somebody’s checklist or paycheck - being rushed in and out or given a laundry list of unnecessary treatments or procedures. I was referred to Dr. Rahbar when I had, in casual conversation, mentioned that I needed a thoughtful dentist who cared about their patients and their emotional needs as well as physical ones. I suffer from c-ptsd and being prone to panic attacks has kept me away from seeking the medical care I knew I desperately needed, as most practitioners simply do not make the time to holistically treat their patients. Dr. Rahbar already sets herself apart from her peers with her incredible work (look at any of her work for yourself) but her genuine care, attention, thoughtfulness and dedication to humanizing an otherwise stressful medical interaction rivals the gorgeous smile you will receive. From the moment you enter the office you are greeted by smiling faces, stunning decor and calming scents. When I arrived for my first appointment, I actually turned around to check that I hadn’t entered a spa! I was checked in and taken back to a beautiful room with a view of outside (that always comforts) and offered a warm blanket and headphones. I ended up with far less dental work than I had previously been told I needed (by another dentist) and I was extensively verbally and visually walked though every single recommendation. They used xray imaging to show me all the work that they felt was necessary for my overall dental health along with providing me with a full consultation for cosmetic work. I literally left the office that day with treatment already started and a date for the future work. It took two visits to completely transform my smile into what I had always dreamed of and to correct all the issues from neglecting my dental care for 20 years. 20 years of work in 2 appointments seems unbelievable but here I am, on the other side of it and truly so thankful I was able to find a doctor and a team that has been so wonderful! I was far from a perfect patient and actually had a full blown panic attack during one of my appointments. The team held my hand, brought me water, snuggled me up in the chair in a warm blanket, let me take breaks and gave me lots of hugs that I really needed to help calm my nervous system down. I never felt like I was annoying anyone and they didn’t try to rush me or make me feel bad or pressured to continue. Personally, I couldn’t have asked for a better overall experience or result. The entire team is incredible and I couldn’t more highly recommend trusting your care in the extremely capable and compassionate hands of Dr. Rahbar and her entire staff.
