Hello! First I would like to apologize for (English isn't my first language) This is a long review.......
My journey began about 10 years ago when I got my first rhinoplasty with Dr. Shah in Chicago. My rhinoplasty was so minimal, that it looked exactly the same. I wanted definition in my nose tip and thining in the middle area of my nose (bridge area) I immediately knew I wanted a revision. I moved to LA 2 years after my surgery and looked for some surgeons there. I went to Dr. Ghavami, Dr. Calvert, and Dr. Lee. Dr. Ghavami and Dr. Calvert wanted to thin the tip, creating more definition. Dr. Lee had somewhat a similar approach too. I forget which doctor wanted my previous surgery notes so I had to connect Dr. Shah. When I called the office they ask why I needed the notes and I told them I was getting a revision. Dr. Shah actually called and said that he could do the revision. I thought well he knows what he did to my nose and if I am more detailed on what I want, he could perform the surgery. Well, it didn't work out that way. I have some scars on my nostrils that are very pretty and you can see I had surgery (things that are supposed to be hidden inside my nose but you can see it on the outside)
So I waited a while since I was too scared to get another revision. At this time around mid-2016, I started to research and found Ben Talei. I went to him for a revision and a lip lift. First I waited over an hour to see him for a consultation. I think our meeting maybe lasted 10 minutes at most. He just said I know what to do for your nose. He took some pictures and that was it. Veronica sent me quote a few days later. I was stunned by his rhinoplasty price, so I thought I would just get the lip lift. Maybe it would balance my nose and face. I tried to get a hold of Veronica a few months later to schedule the lip lift. It was really difficult to set up an appointment. I wanted to get an appointment before the 6-month proposal deadline was up. Well at the end they didn't contact me I wasn't able to get the price quoted and his fees went up.
I searched again on realself and found Dr. Mascarco around Aug 2017. I followed his new reviews and Instagram and his pictures were impressive. So around the end of Sept, I made an appointment to Skype. He spent an hour with me which was refreshing since all the previous Dr.'s spent 15-30 mins (half of which was pictures being taken) Dr. Mascaro answered all my questions without any judgment. I knew he was the one. So fast forward I am having a lip lift and revision rhinoplasty with him on 4/17 (tax day:) ) I am excited and nervous. I will provide pictures of my journey. Thank you for reading my review. Hopefully, it will help someone out there.

thanks for responding. I have had 2 revisions & was looking at Dr Shah & Dr Mascaro. I find a lot of pictures of Dr Mascaro's lip lifts but not many rhinoplasty revisions-ones I've found are only profile pictures & im interested in tip
I had my original and revision with dr shah. I wasn’t happy. I had my tip refined. It’s swollen so pictures wouldn’t really help. But hopefully in a couple weeks it will go down A little to put up pics.
thank you -wish you a speedy recovery I remember how frustrating the swelling was
Thank you! The swelling this time was actually much less than the previous. Which is a bonus
Thank you for being so honest about your appointments with doctors, it’s refreshing. It’s also really instructive to know the differences in your impressions of the consultation appointments. It will be great to see your results, I’m sure they’ll be fantastic!
The doctors in LA were “nice” enough but Dr. Mascaro is kind. Not sure if that makes sense. He’s more personable and listened. I didn’t feel like I was taking his time or rushed. I will post pics soon, I am really happy I decided to go to him.
You wrote two of the most important factors a doctor should have: not rushing/taking all the time you and they need, and listening to their patient. It sounds like Mascaro was the one who gave you both considerations. Those two things are the foundation of a great result; I am impressed.
looking forward to see your results & thank you for your review I was considering Dr Shah & now will not

What did Dr Mascaro do during for your revision rhinoplasty? Do you know if he added or removed any grafts?
Also just noticed the comment about lip lift. How did that go? Which has more swelling, the nose or the upper lip?
