Looking red and inflames around sutures

WORTH IT$2,750
Well today is day 10 and I made the mistake of doing some things that raised my blood pressure yesterday and now the sure line looks more red and inflamed today. I talked to the doctor and he said it in important not to raise my blood pressure for a couple weeks after surgery or the site can become more swollen and red, which is what happened, I got nervous that I might have damaged the suture site but the doctor said it should get better in a couple days. Also after 10 days of putting antibiotic ointment on the site I am now supposed to put vasaline on the suture site now instead of the antibiotic ointment because leaving the antibiotic ointment on for more than 10 days can have an adverse reaction. Then I believe I am supposed to use the vasaline 2 times a day for a week or so and then I can start using the scar cream. But doctor said to check with him first before I start using scar cream.

How much time have you taken off from work for all of this if you don't mind me asking? I'm thinking I'm going to need at least two weeks.
I actually have four weeks vacation that I decided to use for this because I didn't know how long it would take to be normal after the lip lift. I noticed some people seem to heal after a week or two and some people seem to be healing for months. But I am am healing nicely other than the redness so I thinking of going back to work after 2 or 3 weeks so I can save some vacation time for later. If I am still red I can easily just say I have a rash under my nose because that's what it looks like and I don't really look like I had plastic surgery. I think you should be good with 2 weeks
Looks really good. Difficult to find good surgeons that do lip lifts on males. Dunno why.
Well from what I have heard there are not many men who have this procedure done and I also think this is a liitle known procedure that until a few years ago was mostly for older women. But People are now seeing the positive benefit this procedure can have for people of all ages and male and female alike. Its really a simple procedure that if done correctly can substancially change the face and make a person look younger and more attractive. But if done incorrectly it can have the opposite affect and can leave a person scared.
Dr. Mascaro does it differently than many other doctors doesn't he? I always thought that a lip lift was super involved. I think it was a "bull horn" lift that I had looked into. I guess the difference here is not cutting the muscle? This sounds like a way better option. Thanks!
I believe Dr mascara does whats called a modified lip lift. it is a simple procedure and you are awake the whole time, he also uses clear stitches so it looks better while healing. His suture line is very small and tight, he usually takes out the stitches after 5 days. It was actually 6 days for me because I had previous work.
Congratulations on your result, you look like a male model now! Please keep us updated with pictures.
Well I would not go that far but thank you for the compliment.
You genuinely look so much better, wow!
I really hope to get this done soon :)
Looks great!!! You have a wonderful result and I bet it will only look better once you are more fully healed.
Could you post more pics in a few more months? You seem to heal very quickly.
Hi and thanks, yes I have always been a fast healer. I will post a few more pictures today
Looks amazingly natural! Subtle but it really does balance your face and adds a sexy touch. Congrats! Enjoy your new look!
OMG, I must say you look amazing. I’m looking into getting it done myself, for now I’m not sure if am able to afforded. Do you mind if I asked how much it cost. I live in AZ so like you I might have to travel as well. Best wishes, Sue.
Hi I paid 2750
Thanks for the reply. That’s not bad, I was thinking about travel cost plus hotel expensise.

Stitches came out yesterday

My stitches came out yesterday, it is a bit red around the suture line but nothing out of the ordinary. The redness should lighten up over the next month or two

It makes such a great difference with you first pics. I definetely like Dr Mascaro lip lifts and I'm starting to think about coming from France to have it done by him maybe. I'll see...Anyway thanks again for this "male lip lift" review which is so encouraging.
Thanks for the compliment and I'm glad If I was able help you and your decision.
Looking handsome already! I reckon you could have gone with 7mm given how thin your upper lip was… still should turn out to be a subtle yet substantive improvement. Thank you for keeping us in the loop
Thank you for the compliment, yes I am still kicking myself for saying anything to Dr. Mascaro when he told me he wanted to take off 7mm. But I am still happy with my results even though I did not get the tooth show I wanted.
Did he cut out the scars from inside your nose? Were there sutures inside the nose too? From my understanding, you had an endonasal lip lift first, and he converted it to a subnasal lip lift? If so, the results look really natural and great! Your nasal sills look normal and like they were never cut into. Mr M might be a magician.
thank you, I believe he cut part of the scars but not all because he did do a subnasal so he did not cut up into my nostril like the first lip lift I got years ago.
I don't know what you've been doing, but you certainly don't look middle aged!
lol thanks, yes I am older than I look
I’ve been following your journey (even though I’m a female) because there haven’t been many comprehensive reviews of a lip lift. You are healing great, thanks for posting!

I have to ask though, because your skin looks AMAZING - do you do any treatments to get such flawless skin? It’s so clear and even! Or are you one of those lucky people with good genetics ;)
Lol thanks, no I don't do or use anything on my skin, I have always had naturally oily skin so I usually wash my face with just water and a rag about 10 times a day since I was a kid to get rid of the oil on my face. To be honest I usually have facial hair on my face to hide my thin lips so when I finally shaved it for this procedure It was the first time I have seen my face without hair in years.
Thank you for taking the time to respond! If only we could all be blessed with skin like that naturally lol l. Good luck with your healing - it looks amazing!

Trip home back to california

Hello everyone, I just got back to California, I wore a mask the entire trip on the plane and in the airport and I got a few stares but probably not as many as I would have gotten if I didn't have the mask. I will post more pics tommorrow

I seriously doubt anyone would have noticed.. looks good
Lol well it is still noticeable because Its still red around the suture line and also its very shiny because I have to keep it covered with ointment through the healing stage,
Looks great! I’m flying out to Florida to have some silicone removal and lip repair by dr. Gallerani. He specializes in that as it seems like dr. Mascaro does a lot of lip lifts. I too am traveling from California. I probably will wear a mask as well as it seems to also help with keeping it sterile. Hope you have a speedy recovery!
