WORTH IT
Attention to detail is a trait I have noticed in Dr.Mascaro. I have been doing research on countless doctors who do lip procedures and narrowed it down to three who I found to have the most precision, and less of a cookie cutter approach. I was an out of town patient so all my consultations were via Skype. After my consultations it was clear that Dr.Mascaro would be my doctor of choice. While my consultations with others were brief and to the point, Dr. Mascaro really took his time to lay out every possible approach to achieve the results I desired, he listened to my concerns and answered every question in detail. He analyzed the proportions of my face with scrutiny and even showed me that what he had been writing down on paper were notes and a hand-rendered sketch of the proportions of my lips! Setting up my procedure was a breeze, even though I was already very on edge and nervous about getting plastic surgery (since this will be my first!) Maria and Shelly were such a pleasure to work with. They really made me feel at ease and confident about the care I would receive from the office. They responded quickly and in detail all my questions via email, and when I called the office. They were very sweet and carried themselves professionally. I really appreciate the service they provided me and look forward to meeting them in person. I am scheduled on 4/19/18 for a lip reduction to re-shape the contours of my lips. Having been born with excessive fat tissue in the middle of my top lip. I’ve always been self conscious of the way it weighed down my upper lip and covered my teeth unevenly when I spoke and smiled. I also have slight muscle weakness (congenital) on one side of my face which makes my smile already asymmetrical and the weight I have in my top lip exacerbates the asymmetry. I liken it to a Nike shaped smile (haha). I’m excited to finally do something about it after going all my life not knowing there was such a thing as lip reduction, until the last two years. My biggest fear is making my asymmetry worse and/or losing too much volume in my upper lip (from most of my friends and family’s POV I have pretty full lips) but we shall see... I feel very confident in Dr.Mascaro’s work, and every time I look at the reviews here in addition to his before/afters on his insta and RealSelf I am reminded that I wouldn’t want any other doctor for lip surgery, and all my doubts are put at ease.

Had my in person consultation yesterday. All went well, we discussed the results I wanted, Dr.Mascaro drew marks to figure out how much I wanted to take off and what shape I liked best, and of course I asked so many questions. Overall it was a great visit to the office, the Dr was a pleasure to meet and I really appreciate the way he answered all my questions in detail. Today is the day of my procedure! I’ve attached three before pics in real time. (Sorry no make-up) ;)

Procedure was not as scary as I imagined. There was no pain outside of the first initial numbing shots. I was asked what songs I preferred to play during the procedure, and they were nice enough to listen to some oldies with me. I asked for an additional numbing shot on one side which is why there is more swelling on one side. So far so good! Results look great! Loving it.
