Three kids later, I am 40 years old and ready to do something for me! I'm 5'6, 125 lbs, and after breastfeeding for a collective 4 years, my large Cs have become Bs. It's time to put things back where they belong!

I had my consult back in February, so I don't remember all of the details, we'll revisit everything in a few weeks. I'll be having a lift (I think lollipop) with silicone implants under the muscle. We decided somewhere in the neighborhood of 350-370 cc, but he'll be making the final decision during the procedure.

Since I still have an entire month to wait, I'll just be doing what I can to prepare. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I'm still preparing too, but I'll try to think of some things that I've gotten so far. I have some Dial antibacterial body wash to use right before and once I can shower after surgery. I got two zip front bras and two zip front hoodies. I am wearing yoga pants with the hoodie on surgery day and then I just ordered a maxi skirt to wear the next day for when I have my first follow up appointment. I figure it will be comfy to wear even if I'm bloated. And speaking of bloating, I got some Phillips brand fiber gummies to help with that. I bought a neck pillow, but I might return it. It seems more of a nuisance than anything. I have a heating pad for my back. I'm going to ask my PS if he recommends using ice packs on my breasts or not. I'm still trying to decide on what I'll do for scar treatment. (That's a lot of prep, but I've had plenty of time to obsess over this!)

I have been really sick the last couple of days, so I've just been trying to get past the vomiting and terrible menstural cramps and haven't had time to think about my surgery much. Although I did wonder to myself if I will feel this horrible while I'm recovering. :( I hope not. BUT I will say, that I am so glad that I'm having my period before my surgery. I've read a few reviews from ladies who start their period the morning of surgery. That would be such a pain.

Maxi dresses are on sale at Nordstroms for forty bucks right now in their Savvy section. I bought five and they have been so helpful!

Oh that sounds horrible :(. My worst fear is that mine will start soon and not only do I have maxi pads taped to me for leakage from lipo but than I have to worry about other leakage . Ugh!!

Here is a helpful list of recovery items you may want to have on hand prior to your surgery. Be sure to line up any child and pet care for your first few days of recovery too!

Thanks, Beth! Thankfully my mom will be visiting for the first few days, then my husband is taking a week off. 34 days, and counting!!

Good news about your mom and husband helping out post-op. We'd love to see some wish boob photos if you have time to post any!

I am in the process of picking a surgeon to remove my breast implants and do a lift. What made you choose your surgeon? How long did it take you to get in for a consult? Were they able to book the surgery relatively quickly? Sorry for the questions but I just moved to La Jolla and I am uber stressed out about picking a surgeon for my breast lift.

Hi! I originally started narrowing it down by doctors who would take my insurance, because I was having something else looked at that would have been an insurance procedure. It was a previous umbilical hernia repair, that thankfully turned out to be OK, so I don't need to worry about it. I had been narrowing down the list based on credentials and the pics in their gallery that I liked. I liked the doctor I met first, who was also looking at the umbilical repair, but his results in the gallery weren't 100% what I wanted. Close, but not perfect. I also asked my primary physician who he would recommend, but I did not like any of the results of that doctor. My husband even agreed that all of the results looked like Franken-boob. Super long incisions (from all the way under to way up high towards the armpit - I have never seen any pics with anything similar), and not at all what I was looking for. Dr. Marin has all of the qualifications and results that I am looking for. They were able to fit me in rather quickly, I think it was less than a week. My surgery was schedule for much later, but that was only because I already had the week picked out, since my mom will be coming down here to help me out with my kids. It was so comfortable being in the office, and I knew instantly upon meeting everyone that this is where I would be having it done. I would recommend you make an appointment so you can see if they are the same fit for you. Here is the link to his galleries **** My pre-op is on Thursday, I can hardly wait! Let me know if you end up meeting with him.

Thank you so much! My consult is in Thursday. Good luck with your procedure, I'll definitely be checking back with you to see how your ore op went. Only three more sleeps till Thursday!

Oh, it's just my pre-op. Surgery isn't until 6/27. I booked it about 145 days out, and now I am down to 18 days! :-)

Getting closer!

My countdown is almost down to single digits! I had my pre-op last week and have my meds and instructions ready to go. I just need to buy a few tops for after surgery and during recovery. I emailed my wish pictures to the office, and now I just keep counting down the days! I'm really excited that missjones1981 ended up booking with my surgeon! Her surgery is exactly 1 week before mine, so I will be able to keep track of her progress as my big day approaches. Our procedures aren't exactly the same, but it will be interesting to get a 1st-hand glimpse into just how things go at my surgeon's office.

Before shots - this is likely as brave as I'll get with my before shots. I can't wait until everything is back where it is supposed to be!

Picking up straws today, prepared meals, and button up pajamas! Yah!
June 17, 2014
Straws & pajamas are the last on my list . I found a good deal on a 2 pack of hook-front bras, to use in the first few weeks, in addition to the one the office provides. Just emailed you the link. How was your pre-op?
