Are We There Yet?

WORTH IT$21,000

After 17 months, I’m calling it. Here are the final results. To most of you, I probably don’t look much different from the 8-9 month photos. But until month 13 or so, I was still feeling and seeing subtle changes. It’s important for you to know that. This takes a long time.
A year after the facelift, I had cataract surgery. As someone who has needed glasses for 50 years, that change was miraculous. So it’s been a year of renovation, and healing. Seeing the world quite literally through different eyes. I recently turned 60. And with a new face and new eyes, I’m ready for whatever comes next. It’s good to undergo some renewals. We tend to treat our houses, and our stuff, better than we treat ourselves. Maybe this is your year to switch that up. Think about it. Thank you for sharing this experience with me. I wish you nothing but the best.

"Enjoy the Joy" - I love it! Thank you!
You look beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story and outcome.
Thank you so much!
Any before pics?
All the Before pics are in with the After photos. Thx.
I think you look great. The difference is noticeable and yet subtle. You are glowing.
Thank you!
Hi, I love the work your plastic surgeon did. I also have cataracts, can you please let me know who was your surgeon for your cataracts? How of downtime did you have with your vision? I live in NJ and I have to start looking for a good dr. for my eyes. If anybody else knows a good eye doctor in the NJ area, please girls let me know. Thank you!!
Hi, Thank you! Brian Sucheski in Chalfont PA did my cataracts, one at a time, one month apart. The only semi-downtime was waiting for dilation to go away. My first eye took a day and a half and it did get annoying. I was told blue eyes dilate faster, bigger and longer than other colors. I had to wear a cup over my eye for a week while sleeping. Post surgery eye drops regime takes several weeks because you have to wean off steroid drops. But every doctor has their own routine, so your experience may differ. It's a pretty uneventful experience. Mostly just tedious. Good luck! You're going to be thrilled once it's done.

A Bright Star in a Galaxy of “Meh”

So it’s been 8 months since my Deep Plane facelift, and when pandemic lockdown eased up, I went in for more Botox. In about 3 minutes flat Dr Mark Glasgold knocked an additional 5 years off my face.
Look at this forehead. I had a “1” that had been a permanent fixture between my eyes since 1995.
My eyebrows are now higher, and more symmetrical. We argued about the symmetry because he didn’t want to believe it, but I informed him that if I said it was true, it was true. So there.
My upper lip, virtually invisible under normal circumstances, now actually shows when I smile. There is a drawback though. I can’t pucker, and thus can’t eat without laughing. It can get messy. So if you try it, you’ll have to learn how to eat all over again too.
I’d say my face looks like it did at 35, but the truth is, it looks better. I always had chipmunk cheeks, and Mark Glasgold took care of that during the facelift. It was the best decision he could’ve made. I feel like he made my face look like it was supposed to look. Like it should have always looked. But didn’t.
So, the upshot is, this doctor continues to astonish me with his commitment to deliver stellar care and results that never fail to soar above and beyond any reasonable expectation.
I generally have low to zero expectations anymore, so it’s actually shocking to encounter someone with such a dazzling code. So shocking I never know quite what to do, or say, in the moment. So I come home, write another review, and pray at the altar of the Botox gods that this man never retires. It’s the only way I have to adequately thank him for what he’s done for me. Because there’s always more to these things than mere skin. The changes to the skin are the part you can see. Everything else is the part no one ever sees. Never let anyone fool you into believing a facelift, or Botox, is merely cosmetic, or vain. It’s not. At all. It’s much, much more. And you want a bright star to guide you during these travels.
Just pick him. Go see him. Give a general idea of what you want, then just let him do his thing. You should treat yourself to the Mark Glasgold experience. You really should. He’ll make you better. You’ll be so happy. And you deserve that.

I also had a deep plane mid face lift with Dr. Mark. No neck work since I had a platysmaplasty done in 2016 and he said I didn't need it. I am 14 months post op and I can't be happier. Especially how around my mouth looks so much better. Most Dr.s don't touch the pouches on the side of the mouth and the marionette lines. They say nothing will work on those. Dr. Glasgold proved them wrong. He also removed scar tissue from a previous mouth corner lift that was pulling my mouth down liked I was always mad. I flew all the way from New Orleans to New Jersey to have my surgery. One thing I can say is most people from other Dr. look really good at 3 weeks post op and slowly everything falls back down most times in a year. A deep plane lift causes a longer recovery time, so patience is key. My cheeks were swollen for a long time. I am 64 years old and getting hit on by guys of all ages. This is happening now 14 post op. So his lifts have staying power and that is the most important thing, besides his prices being very reasonable. Mine was less than 21K because I had just the midface so mine was 13K. Still deep plane though.
What a cool story! The Deep Plane facelift is the absolute best value for your money. You get renewed mid face, lower face, and neck. And it lasts forever. It's the only work I've ever had (besides one failed lip augmentation in 2000) and it's likely to be the only - except for future Botox. New Orleans to NJ is a long way to go. But I'll tell you what, no matter where in the world I might settle, I'll be flying back to Dr. Glasgold for the Botox.
Thanks for providing photos in the same lighting and angle that really helps. You look great!
I appreciate you noticing that. It can be a bit of work but it's so necessary. Thank you!
You look absolutely stunning! So happy for you and encouraging for me. My deep plane is scheduled for 20th July and I am getting quite anxious. Thank you so much for sharing your story and pictures (very well taken btw) Your sense of humor is infectious!
How exciting! You're going to be so thrilled. There's no need to be anxious as I'm sure you've chosen the right surgeon for you. Please post your story. And thank you for the terrific compliments!
You are most welcome
Modest676352 mine is July 21st. Good luck :) Thanks for posting PanAnn.
You'll love it! You're welcome.
PanAnn, how are you feeling? I’m literally a nervous wreck
I feel great. And you will too. You’ll go through different phases of healing. Here’s an idea of mine: Week 1: adrenaline high. I can’t believe I did it. It's done. And look at that jawline! My friends are amazed. I'm amazed. Week 2: stitches out. One tiny area behind ear didn’t heal. Instant deflation. Week 3 obsessed about ear. Week 4 obsessed about ear. Week 5 obsessed about ear. I have a “low” feeling for several weeks. Not depressed. Just low. Remember, your body doesn’t agree that something great just happened. All it knows is it’s wounded. So you could feel tired and low like I did. Most people get creepy crawly feelings as the nerves heal. I certainly did - for months. 4-6 months: residual swelling subsides slowly. My face changes almost daily. Sometimes it takes a couple steps back in appearance. But, fear not. It's not done yet. 6 months: constant tightening in my face and neck. I work at home, alone all day, so the lack of movement from not talking, smiling or laughing (except at maybe my own stupid jokes) probably exaggerates that. In the morning, especially, it could feel very tight. Now, at 9 months, I only feel like I had a facelift if I think about it. I’m not checking it hourly, or even daily. I had a pretty lumpy scar under my chin but that’s slowly going down and softening up. Dr. Glasgold said he thinks facelifts look optimal at two years. I can’t imagine better than this though. You chose a fantastic, experienced surgeon, I’m sure. He will do an excellent job for you. If you’re like me, this is a once in a lifetime event. You’ll get to witness how magically your body heals and transforms. You’ll feel rejuvenated from your your skin to your soul. Any terrible things that happened will be erased from your face. You won’t have to look at them anymore. So it can be a heart-healing event, too. I hope this helps you. Best wishes! I'm rooting for you!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Modes..i sent you a message but you dont reply..your surgery is on with Dr. Ercan K?
How are you doing?
Hi PanAnn. Although I can see the results through the swelling are going to be remarkable, I’m going through a bit of a low. My bruising is horrific around both ears and because I was a smoker, stopped 1st June I’m terrified of necrosis. My PS is brilliant though, he is confident the deep bruising will continue to fade, slaying my fears and treating me aggressively with antibiotics to prevent infections but I’m so depressed, convinced I’m going to lose my mind. I’m still in Istanbul, just left Hosp today( surgery 20th and since I’m here until 1st aug, Doc will see me twice a day to change dressings. As a previous smoker any advice or help you could give me would be so appreciated. How was your bruising after surgery? Thanks in advance ❤️
I'm so sorry you're having these concerns. I was also concerned with what looked to be darker purple skin behind my ears. My PS assured me it was not necrosis. And the color eventually got more normal within 3 weeks or so. In front of my ears the bruising was not bad and faded in about a week. Dr Glasgold used tissue glue so that might have helped. As for smoking, I continued to have one cigarette per day throughout, except for 5 days surrounding surgery when I didn't smoke at all. I ate 70% dark chocolate and pistachios daily to enhance circulation - both are vasodilators - and took extra vitamin C. While you're in enchanting Istanbul, do yourself a favor and visit Magnaura Restaurant. https://www.magnaurarestaurant.com/index.htm. You'll be treated like a princess and the wonderful, playful staff will lift your spirits. Take care and check in again!
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! I think being here alone is also giving me too much time inside my head to come up with worse case scenarios! I am going to take your advice and visit that restaurant before I leave on Saturday. Stitches around eyes coming out tomorrow so I can’t wait for that. I’ll keep in touch and thank you for your kindness and prompt reply, I really appreciate it. ❤️
Once you get yourself out into the Old City streets you'll feel much better. Turkish people are very friendly, engaging, and curious. If you meet Murat, the owner of Magnaura, see if he remembers the woman named Ann who ate there every night with her 2 daughters and niece. We are all still Facebook friends haha. Adore those guys! Go to the Grand Bazaar if it's open. The shop keepers will pester you and make you laugh.
Hearing you say, any terrible things that happened will be erased from your face, has tears rolling down. I feel like I was robbed of some happy years and my face shows that so much. I cannot wait to feel happy in my skin again. I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time and care to share your experience! You've made me feel so positive that I've made the right choice to go through with this big decision. Much love and many thanks from Australia! P.S I am going to buy ALL THE CHOKERS when my neck looks as magnificent as yours!
You know what? Those two sentences were the hardest thing I ever wrote. I’m private about my traumas. It’s traumatic to even mention out loud that I have them. And I usually go back and delete any public comments I make referring to them. But you can’t do that on RealSelf. And I just thought, there’s someone out there who needs to see this. The surgery took my face back in time, before the bad stuff happened. Five months went by for that realization to sink in. When I woke up on February 16th 2020, I wasn’t grieving anymore. I’d been grieving for 24 years. And, I wasn’t anymore. It was miraculous. I can’t even tell you. The facelift turned out to be exactly what I needed to be able to move on. That last little turn in the tunnel. So as hard as it is for me to post this too, I’m going to do it because now you have given me the good feels. You’re the person who was supposed to see this. So thank you for commenting. It means so much to me. You’re going to be so happy in all your new chokers, with your beautiful new neck. When is your surgery?
I have no doubt that I was meant to read that. I have tears in my eyes again. It's amazing when the universe just lines something up for you. I'm just longing to feel renewed and everything you described. I feel the best I have in years in so many other ways but the face drags me down somewhat. I am not sure when I'm able to have my surgery yet, all our elective surgeries are on hold because of covid, but honestly it can't come quickly enough. I'd be on the table tomorrow if I could! Again, I really can't thank you enough for your words. You've really helped me out. Very best wishes for the future!
How are you doing?
Same to you!
how are you doing??
Has anyone heard from Modest676352??? She literally vanished after her facelift and does not reply to messages and i was about to book with her doctor.
I haven't heard from her. Hoping she's ok. Have you booked anyone?
Hello...thanks for the quick reply. I was on the fence between her doctor in Turkey and another doctor out of the country. But now I am concerned as she told me she would check her messages every few days and she has not

You Can Wear Chokers Again!

And 70s leather hair sticks. Do it for yourself, do it for artisan jewelers, do it for hippie leather crafters. You’ll have fun with fashion again. Yet more happy reasons to neaten up that face ;)
