Selected Dr. Hector Miramontes based on the few reviews he has on here because his before and after pics spoke for themselves. I verified his association memberships and talked with his patient coordinator Karen. I was still a little unsure, he had been in business for so long yet so few reviews. But his serious manner and logical process won me over very fast.

Hi there, pretty brave of you to go trough this and post. I'm a 60 yo looking to have the same procedure you just went under. Looks like you just had this done so we won't know about results and recovery times for a bit however, I would like to ask you this, at this point and time on your way to recovery what is your level of discomfort (pain and all) and is there anything you can think of that you would have done differently or any regrets?

The only weak link in the whole process was coming out from anesthesia and being in discomfort that first night. In my opinion they should always stay ahead of the pain. But have to say that is the only negative comment. After that first night It's been mildly uncomfortable but no pain. The Doctors, patient coordinator and nurses are holding your hand whole time so it's pretty stress free and I think he nailed it... I was really sold on the logic of deep plane with no fillers and I will post some 7 day pics next

Thanks so much for starting a review and I can't wait to see your progress photos. As you I really like the results shown in the few reviews on here, but there are just so few, it makes me nervous. Many reviews aren't necessarily quality control of course, but at least the can give an impression of the facelift 'style' a surgeon has. So I'm really grateful that you are taking the time to keep us updated. Did you have no consultation with him directly (either online or in person) before you booked the surgery? I'm based in Europe, so at the very least I would want to have an online consultation before making a decision.

once you have the consultation you will feel much better. After talking to him 30 minutes, upon my arrival in Mexico, I was completely convinced I was in good hands.

Anska5 I had exactly the same concerns but did some research and decided to go for it ,am convinced I choose the right surgeon for results I am after . I am also from Europe and will be of to Mexico in 3 weeks ! Excited already - found this page very helpful and will post my experience on here as well .

The cost is definitely going to vary from person to person. I had the deep plane facelift which includes the face and neck/chin but what really pleased me about this doctor is he was able to adjust the surgery to include areas that could benefit greatly such as fixing my dropped nose and taking some hump out of it without writing me up for a full nose job ... and then he did some work on my eyes without doing a whole Brow Lift which I didn't need so in the end all the areas that concerned me got attention. Cost for me was 15K but included a private nurse for 8 days and he gave me half off on the nose job plus threw in a few other extras. You will not feel like you are in a facelift factory, this doctor takes his work seriously and that puts one immensely at ease.

Stitches removed today. I actually walked around on the street and didn't scare anyone.Feeling better with each day, I will have no problem returning to work in another week. The hardest part of all of this is keeping the neck stretched out so watching the position when using phone or computer.

Wow...myself and a friend are considering going to this Dr...you are really helping us decide to go to him...and it sounds like the after care is great too from what Karen says...So, we really do appreciate these updates!

any nitpicking I do is just to show were area of improvement could be but it's only nitpicking. I am convinced his methodology is superior, get him to explain it to you, the proof is in the pudding.

To update pictures I have to update the entire thread and now add 200 more characters. I think this forum needs a facelift lol )) Ok I posted a pic without glasses in response to the comment and I am so far very happy with results. One thing they have done is to not pull some of the stitches, they want to do that Thursday and leave Friday morning so it makes me a little nervous, hope I am not bleeding on the plane type of thing. Well let me check if its been 200 characters. Oh also let me mention that the nurse which I paid extra $50 per day is a great value. She doesn't hang with me all day because I do better alone so as soon as she fixes the food, lines out my meds and other stuff, I ask her leave and it's perfect. Another beauty thing about having the nurse is she worries about getting the taxi, she arranges the ultrasound if you want it, she goes to front desk at hospital, you can be completely relaxed and zoned out, Lula is running block for you!!

Wow, what a difference already after such a short time, you are going to look fantastic! Do you know by any chance whether Dr. Miramontes only uses disolvable stitches for his face and necklifts or whether any permanent stitches are used? I had always assumed that all stitching used are dissolvable (apart from those that are removed after the first few days of course), but learned by chance that the German surgeon i was considering briefly does indeed use permanent sutures as part of his neck lifts (to fix the platysma bands if I remember correctly). Permanent stitches left anywhere inside my body would be a complete no no for me.

Hi, Doctor Miramontes also uses some permanent stitches. I would talk to him directly if I were you, I looked into it and it seems to be a common practice.
