Happy That I Found the Amazing Dr David Harley!

My dear sister took me to my day after surgery follow up, where I had my bandages removed. She had to leave that day to get back to Florida for work. She made sure that I had plenty to eat for the week, until a girlfriend from work arrived to spend the rest of my stay with me. I was definitely tired and didn't know what to expect. Luckily I didn't continue to take any prescription pain meds after the 1st day. I didn't experience pain. However, I took Tylenol just in case. I did experience some stomach issues throughout the week, which I believe were from the antibiotics. Doctor Harley's office was quick to respond to help me. I was so happy when my friend arrived for the last few days. It helped me to feel like things were getting back to normal. I still had to take it easy, but we ventured out to take short walks and eat out.

Fortunately, my wonderful sister agreed to make the trip with me from from Florida to care for me the day of and day after surgery. We arrived the Friday before to bomb around Asheville/ Waynesville and have a sisters weekend! I booked a cute little Air BnB in Waynesville, 10 minutes from Dr Harley's office. Surgery was scheduled bright and early Monday morning April 12. We arrived at 6 am, greeted by Dr Harley himself at the door! We sat and talked about my surgery. He answered my questions about the sedation (my biggest worry, lol) and I gave him my prescription that I'd picked up from home in Florida. He went to crush them up, came back with a pill cup and I dropped it under my tongue. Then I settled up my remaining balance. Before I knew it, Dr Harley came back to get me to bring me to the surgery room. He took a couple of photos before I sat in his chair, and that's literally the last thing I remember until around 3:30 in the afternoon when my sis was giving me my meds. I have a very vague memory of looking at Dr Harley's assistant during surgery, briefly, and perhaps a moment when Dr Harley helped me to get in the car.

It has been a busy year, and I'm sorry it took me so long to start my story. I learned of Dr. Harley over a year ago, soon after the pandemic started. I contacted Dr Harley's office and consulted over a phone call, after I sent my photos. My surgery was originally scheduled for October 2020 but I had to delay it to April 2021. I'm glad that I put a deposit down at that time to hold my quoted price. My next post will tell you about my surgery, my travels to NC, and my recovery, along with progress photos. I'm truly grateful for all of you who have told their stories here. Your honesty and details of your experiences really made this an easy decision for me to choose an amazing surgeon, Dr Harley!!
