WORTH IT
A month ago, I had a deep plane face and neck lift with Prof. Çakmak. At 45 years old, I have some signs of aging and wanted a more preventative approach, to maintain a youthful look for longer. But my main concern was the heaviness in the neck that had always been there, due to genetics but that was also exacerbated by age. Prof. Çakmak performed an extended neck dissection where he removed some of the deeper structures - such as the submandibular glands - while contouring the muscles and tightening the skin. The results are beyond anything I could have hoped for. My neck and jawline are so sleek and defined, yet feminine. My nasolabial folds, another big concern of mine, are practically gone. Another perk that I didn't expect was that my undereye area tightened thanks to the deep plane technique, without needing a lower bleph.
A quite important note here is that I have type 1 diabetes. So there is always a fear around undergoing elective surgery with a condition like this. I worried about what would happen if I got a hypoglycemic episode while under general anesthesia, if I was at higher risk of infection, and if my wound healing would be slower. But the team at the hospital ensured I was not only reassured and safe, they also took great care of my blood sugar levels from start to finish so that I did not have any issues while recovering from the surgery.
A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Aycha and the entire team at Prof. Çakmak's clinic. They were so welcoming and empathetic. I traveled to Istanbul alone from Switzerland and felt insecure at first, but everyone made me feel at home. I was very touched by their hospitality and kindness.
