Difficult Recovery but Worth It

6 weeks out

WORTH IT
Still have some swelling I understand is normal but it looks better every day. For me, this was a huge change and when I see someone I haven’t seen in a while, they don’t recognize me. I know most people want to just look refreshed but people can’t quite put their finger on your change, for me the change is transformative. I just chuckle and say yeah I lost a lot of weight haha…

Hi! I’m looking to have the deep plane facelift as well and having it down by this Dr. but would it be difficult if I don’t speak any Spanish? Or do they have a translator there for you?
She does speak some English
Oh come on, people won’t think that’s weight loss! But you look good- big improvement
amazing

Keeps getting better

I needed this surgery so bad that people don’t recognize me at first if they haven’t seen me in a while. My face was so old looking, tired and everything was sagging from a lot of weight loss. I still have some expected swelling 6 weeks out an am very happy with my results. Totally worth it!

Difficult Recovery but Worth It

Great experience. Very painful the first few days but wowza I’m so far so happy with my results! The attached after photo is about 8 days out, there is still bruising and swelling that can’t be seen in that photo but the photo really shows the difference in the loose skin on my face and neck. I still can’t believe it . Dr Maribel is very good at what she does, the hospital is a nice hospital, the aftercare in the recovery house was worth every penny and much better that the recovery one would have in the US.

You look great I’m thinking of going with her, how much did it cost you
And recovery house, how long did you stay?
I too would love to know how much you paid. I was quoted 10k by her for a facelift!!! Which shocked me because another excellent dr in mexico quoted me 7k
I had a number of procedures done and don’t remember the breakdown of everything individually. I can say I think it was worth it, 7k vs 10k, price isn’t everything but I guess if everything was equal then I’d save the 3k but also find out if there are other expenses tot don’t know about on top of the 7k. I’m any event, there was a decent expense on top of the surgery - medications and supplies, she requires you to stay for a week after the surgery and also to do some hyperbaric chamber treatments. All of that still much cheaper than the US and the care is better. If I had any issue, I’d say the pain control wasn’t great but I am extremely sensitive to pain and they don’t use narcotics. I believe that is Mexico in general.
I meant to say above but can not see how to edit it that I would personally not let a few thousand dollars in price make my choice of one Dr vs the other. Of you feel it for one over the other, don’t let that difference in price be the deciding factor.
Hi, did you have the surgery? It is shocking to see how quickly doctors raise prices. I just hope I can still afford to do this. To me, yes, unfortunately a few thousand $$ is a big deal, which is why I must travel outside the US.
I traveled to save money as well but it is not worth a few thousand to go to someone not as good. This isn’t really the thing you want to budget shop for and it is so much cheaper in Mexico, you are already doing something unaffordable in the US and saving so much. I’d wait a little longer to save the few extra thou to go to this Dr in a heartbeat. She does great work, she’s very responsive. Even today 7 months out I guarantee if I had a question I’d get an answer within an hour. You can’t get that here in the US anywhere!
Wow! You look amazing already!! What procedures did you have done?
Your result is great. Your face is immensely rejuvenated. Fabulous:-) ... My turn with Dr Belmontes is in one month! I come from Europe. I'm extremely scared concerning the pain... I hope I will manage.
I hope it went well for you and you are as happy as I am!
You look great did you have the Co2 laser your skin looks so much better
If so how was that like? Can you post pictures of your incisions that really
helps my big concern.
She did do CO2 laser. She told me what I needed and I let her do it. She’s the expert and she was right!
Also, be aware the “after” picture is probably 3-4 weeks out and I still had swelling and my skin was healing. Both those things together and I looked about 20 years younger lol however it’s 7 months out and I’m still thrilled but when the swelling goes down some wrinkles are back and I’m not so pink. I’d post pictures if I could. I am also anemic and underweight, being underweight doesn’t help my face and if I can put about 15 pounds back on it would be great.
Hello! You look beautiful! I’m looking to have the same procedures done and was wondering if you have your own private room in recovery with bathroom? And also do most of the nurses and the Dr speak English well enough to feel that they know what your concerns and questions were while there?
I’m sure I haven’t been here in a while. Yes I had a room to myself with a private bathroom. The Dr will tell you which recovery house to go to. English can be iffy, some are better than others but they are all wonderful. Use the translator on your phone. The Dr speaks excellent English. The nurse in the presurgical area didn’t speak and English but she was so good and it wasn’t necessary, it’s no different being in the hospital there than the US other than the language and the aftercare is better.
