The Best Money I’ve Spent in Decades.
WORTH IT
As a single man at 60-years-old I see many women that look great for their age. Procedures for the face, minor and major are common. After discussing it with a good, female friend I thought I was at the right age to do this, once. I decided to investigate and eventually commit.
Over time and through consultations I determined that for myself, the most value for money spent was to do everything at once. I only needed to spend close to $40,000! Fortuitously, I found Dr. Valdez through Julie Smith online and saw that he was board-certified in the U.S. So, I communicated with Julie who provided me with previous patients before and after-surgery photos and I was pleasantly shocked by the positive, physical transformations of these people. Many of these results were truly stunning. I had a video call with Dr. Valdez and I decided to proceed; my total costs were so much less than 40K.
I learned after my arrival that Dr. Valdez had another pipeline for patients but I worked with Julie. In a word, I felt that she was completely “invested” in a smooth process for me and if not ever-present she always answered my calls.
As Cancun is a tourist town, I expected that outside the doors of the airport I’d be greeted by numerous people soliciting for taxis, shuttles and buses. Eventually, I saw my name on a placard and I was in my own shuttle van. All my other transportation needs were also taken care of.
Julie recommended Suites Malecon and Krystal Urban Cancun and I stayed at both. Krystal Urban is fine but Suites Malecon has covered access to a large indoor mall and food court. It was ideal, I’d stay there again. Street-side rooms are noisier (think tourist town) but have great sunrises.
Pre-surgery testing in a lab that was not to be judged by the facade and I was in and out in minutes. Because of my age I required a CT scan, EKG and a meeting with a cardiologist and I got it all done in less than 2 hours. That won’t happen in the U.S. They were efficient and quick.
The hospital's appearance is not what you’ll find in wealthy countries. Know that it is a big-city facility, so they are simple, nimble and do “sterile” just fine. I had my own recovery and an overnight room that was huge along with a nurse who was in the room all night.
If memory is correct:
Jan 31, 2022: Brow lift, extended deep plane facelift, lower blepharoplasty and facial fat grafting. The upper blepharoplasty couldn’t be done at this time due to the amount of swelling with the brow lift.
May 5, 2022: Returned for upper blepharoplasty and (why not?!) endoscopic brow lift.
I have been to Mexico and other lesser-developed countries before so there was nothing new to me there. I paid a fair price for cosmetic work from a world-class surgeon. Everything else there is relatively inexpensive so that’s why I saved so much money and I suspect cosmetic surgeons in Canada and the U.S. probably net less than Dr. Valdez. A win for both of us.
