Most Gifted Facelift Surgeon
I feel very fortunate to have had my facelift with Dr. Çakmak. He is an extremely gifted surgeon (among the top in the world) and made me look at least ten years younger. On one hand, my results are very natural but on the other hand, I have a sharper jawline now than I even did in my youth. My surgery was six months ago at age 50. I did extensive research to find Dr. Çakmak and chose him because he works exclusively on faces, is double board certified, contributes to the latest academic research in the field, and has absolutely stunning results. On top of this, he has a caring bedside manner and makes himself completely available to his patients post-surgery as needed. I felt I was in very good hands the entire time I was in Istanbul. This continued as I returned to my home in the US as Dr. Çakmak was only a WhatsApp message away.
I had a deep plane facelift and necklift, partial removal of the submandibular glands, fat transfer, upper blepharoplasty and buccal fat trimming. (I’ve always had chubby cheeks, which started to descend with age.) My surgery was long – over eight hours – but I did not experience any of the nausea that past patients have remarked on as the anesthesiologists with whom Dr. Çakmak works have changed their protocol at his request.
The hospital where Dr. Çakmak operates is absolutely state-of-the-art. I do recommend hiring a surgical companion for the night of your surgery and a day or two afterward, though, as few – if any – of the nurses speak English and it’s nice to have someone who is familiar with the process to help care for you, translate, and help you get settled once you are discharged from the hospital. Mine even drove me to one of my post-op appointments at Dr. Çakmak’s clinic.
In addition to having a heart-shaped (rather than rectangular) face shape now, I have to say that the scars in front of my ears are barely visible due to Dr. Çakmak’s impeccable stitching.
One thing I think that’s important to note is that a facelift takes time to heal. The patients on social media who appear to be fully healed at two weeks post-op are outliers and I think their unusual experiences mislead people. At six months post-op, I am still a bit swollen but see improvement every week. This is a major process and healing takes time and isn’t linear.
If you’re considering a facelift, Dr. Çakmak is truly the best. I am so very grateful that he was my surgeon. This was the best thing I have done for myself in middle age.
