I’ve always had a super full neck/face, no matter my weight. As I’ve gotten older and am approaching 50 i started to really develop a “turkey neck” and decided to do this procedure after seeing and admiring Dr. Nayak’s work. From the moment I met Carrie my surgical coordinator, i was completely sure. Carrie is the sweetest, kindest woman. Then 2 weeks pre-op I met with Gina to go over all instructions before surgery... she was also fabulous. Basically the whole staff are amazing caring and nice. On 12/5/18 the day of surgery Dr. Nayak came in to go over what we were gonna do and to mark me up where he was operating. The entire OR staff was so reassuring and kind to me, I didn’t feel like their patient, I felt like their friend. The last thing I remember was being in the OR and asking if they had given me something! First afternoon/night after surgery is a little blurry but i had ZERO pain. Woke up the next day super sore and a little swollen, with much less bruising then I anticipated (since I usually bruise just by being poked)
I didn’t love the drains I had, but came to understand that they were the reason I only slightly bruised. Went in to office for 24 hour post op and Dr. Nayak was happy where I was.
Two days after surgery on a SATURDAY I felt like I was really swollen around one of my drains. I messaged Dr. Nayak who immediately called me. Dr. Nayak wanted to see me, so he met me at the office on a SATURDAY!!!! He thought I was just at the prime of swelling but just to be safe put me on an additional antibiotic. Dr. Nayak wanted me to come back the next day SUNDAY just to be sure I was okay!! He thought I was okay and took out one drain. The next day (my regularly scheduled 5 day post op visit) Dr. Nayak was happy with progress and took out second drain. One week post op I got stitches out. Dr. Nayak told me I kinda fall in the middle as to how people recover from this surgery. I’m probably a little more swollen than others may have been or will be, but I’m progressing. I won’t lie and tell you this isn’t super uncomfortable, and I’m not more swollen than I anticipated, but I can tell you that I was NEVER really in extreme pain. Considering I had a 3 hour major surgery I’m extremely grateful. The way they control pain in OR is remarkable (I believe they gave me something for pain while I was under)
I’m 2 weeks post op and feeling better everyday. We live in a world of instant gratification and I have to keep reminding myself of how that’s not reality. I’m happy where I am, but cannot wait to see the final outcome. I cannot recommend Dr. Nayak’s office enough. His staff is hands down the best staff in the world and always make me feel as if I’m their ONLY patient. Who else has a doctor that would come in to the office on a Saturday AND Sunday for them?

You look amazing! I am having a neck lift on Tuesday. (I have uploaded my pre op pics already). I’m nervous but excited too. Not sure what to expect after surgery. Hoping nothing goes wrong and I won’t have a wonky mouth or anything. Your post is reassuring based on your photos. Really great x

You’re gonna do great... just remember it’s a marathon, not a sprint. It will take some time. Don’t be discouraged, you will get there. If you have any questions during recovery feel feee to message me. Good luck, sending good vibes your way.

Thank you so much! I’ll upload pics after. It’s taken me a year to do this but it’s got to the point I hate my neck so much so I’m going to take the plunge especially after seeing great results like yours x
