Happy

I still have some numbness and swelling but I am 100% happy with my results. I love my belly button and the scar doesn’t bother me at all. The only regret I have is not doing it a long time ago.

3 weeks PO blues

I have 2 moods-hungry and sleepy.
Im a little bit emotional this week. At my 2 week PO check up I was supposed to get my drains and belly button stitches out. Belly button looks great but I’m still draining between 40-50cc a day so my drains have to stay in until my output is 30cc or less for 3 consecutive days. The good news is that it seems like they’re producing less so I’m hopeful they’ll be out in a few days.
Honestly the drains have been the worst part for me. Somehow it just takes a mental toll having foreign objects poking out of your body. They’re held in by a single suture and any tug or pressure is nagging pain. Any tips of how to deal with these is appreciated.
Up until today my weight was exactly the same as my pre-op weight but today I dropped 4lbs. Not sure if that’s permanent-or it will come back or if I’ll lose more as swelling goes down?
I am still numb in a lot of areas. My lower back has the least amount of feeling. My flanks are starting to recover sensation. The sides of my stomach have the most feeling except for my belly button and below my belly button to my pubic area.
Still very happy with my results so far...but the recovery is a very long physical, emotional and mental process. It’s hard to prepare yourself.
