6 Week Results + Update!
I apologize for the late update!! Here are my results after 6 weeks. I’m really 5 months post op (I’ll post those pictures later). I can’t tell y’all how much my life has changed with my newfound confidence. I’ve always been super self conscious about my body to the point where I was scared to date because of my body insecurities. Don’t get me wrong - I didn’t get this procedure done for anyone but myself. I’ve been single for YEARS and now I feel like a new woman. I met the man of my dreams and one of our first few dates, we went to the beach. I have never felt more confident wearing a bathing suit and dresses. We’re still together and happy as ever. I feel like if I never got the procedure, I wouldn’t have had the confidence to pursue.
Now let’s talk about the recovery. It actually hasn’t been as bad as I thought it’d be. I was very sore the first 4-6 weeks but each week got better and better. I did notice a lot of lumps and I tried to massage them out myself everyday but it was too much and I felt like I needed to see a professional. I started getting lymphatic massages every week and it has helped with the recovery tremendously. If I could give any helpful advice, that would be the main one!

Day of Procedure - Smart Lipo 360
I got my smart Lipo done yesterday at LA Lipo Center with Dr. Robert. I got the whole 360 (lower/upper abdomen, flanks, love handles) and also my chin/jowels. I’ve never done anything like this before so I was super nervous but the staff and Dr. Robert made me feel really comfortable. I think what made me nervous the most was because I did a lot of research beforehand and read horror stories and the fact that I was going to be awake during the procedure because they use local anesthesia freaked me out. I thought it was going to hurt! But honestly, it was all in my head because the experience wasn’t bad AT ALL.
They started with my body, so they put a cover over my upper half so I couldn’t see anything that they were doing. Dr. Robert talked me through each step and kept asking how I was doing. The only part that I felt discomfort was when they were injecting the anesthesia to numb the area. But it really wasn’t painful. Kind of like little bug bites that lasted for a few seconds. After I was numbed up, he went in with the liposuction. I didn’t feel any pain whatsoever. All I felt was pressure. It might sound weird but it kind of felt like a massage inside my skin lol there were a couple moments where I felt slight pinching but that was because I had some scar tissue that he had to work through. Again, not painful.
After he was finished with the Lipo, he went in with the laser to melt the fat and tighten everything up. It was a little uncomfortable at times because I felt some heat in certain areas but it wasn’t bad at all, it was tolerable. I was very impressed with the whole procedure. I psyched myself out for no reason lol Now I understand why this is such a popular procedure. After he did my body, he did my chin/jowels. Same as before, no pain at all and it was really quick.
Dr. Robert was very detailed and knew exactly what he was doing. Him and the nurse kept telling me how great everything was looking so that just made me even more excited. I had my eyes closed mainly the entire time, I was very relaxed and probably could have slept through the procedure lol I felt fine after the procedure. After I was discharged, the nurse walked me out to my sisters car. I felt fine on the ride home, just was a little tired.
My procedure was at 9am and I got home around 4:30pm. I had everything prepared for me at home before my procedure (sheet protector on my sheets, doggy pads, meds by bed) so when I got home, I went and laid down and took a nap. I woke up from my around 7pm-7:30ish and boy, I could tell the anesthesia was wearing off because I was feeling the pain. I could barely move. Thank God for my son because he basically waited on me hand and foot lol but after I took my pain med (hydrocodone), I felt a lot better. I also had arnicare tablets too so I took that as well. Still couldn’t really move much but I was able to watch a movie and eat a little bit. Then around 10pm, I took my antibiotic and my other medication (Valium) and I slept like a baby through the night.
