Provider Review
Alrighty, I've been waiting to get through most of my recovery to write a thorough review about my experience with Dr. Goodman. I live in the bay area but went to school in LA and after going to a few more consultations in LA, I read up on Dr. Goodman's experience and knew I had to make the trip to Davis for a consult. I didn't like how doctors in LA preferred one method over another... I felt as though a Doctor truly experienced in this field shoudl be able to do both methods. First of all, I loved Dr. Goodmans website and all the information he makes accessible! When I called to schedule my consult I spoke to Nicole who is the NICEST woman ever!!! She stayed on the phone with me for 35 minutes, going above and beyond to give me as much information about both methods (linear/trim, and wedge). My mom and I were truly impressed with her! Once I met Dr. Goodman, I instantly knew he was the surgeon I wanted to perform the surgery. He truly cares about his patients and it shows... He doesn't tell you what he thinks is abnormal about you and makes it very clear that all vaginas come in different shapes and sizes! He simply has you list what you want to be changed and he tells you how he will do that after he examines you. He told me that I was a better candidate for the linear method which according to Dr. and Nicole, has an easier recovery! It has been 5 weeks since my surgery and although I'm still waiting to see the final results (which Dr. says takes up to 3 months postop), I am still extremely happy with the outcome SO FAR and the overall recovery. Dr. Goodman and is staff are all so kind and make sure to go above and beyond so that you have all the information you need before and after surgery. Because Davis is far out from me, Dr. Goodman can do post op appointments over the phone in which you just send an email with a picture. I have had 2 post op appointments so far and again, Dr. Goodman was so kind and sincere in answering my questions. If you are thinking about this surgery but are scared of the recovery- DON'T BE!!! It really wasn't painful at all!!! It looks a lot worse than it is! I only took pain killers the first day but after that for 2 days I just took ibuprofen! After that I just used medical cannabis to help me sleep. Sleeping and sitting are the only two activities that can get uncomfortable but no pain associated with them. TIPS: 1. Keep a copy of the pre-op and post-op instructions in a folder so you can refer to them whenever you need something answered! 2. I took a week off work/school and I'm so glad I did because it was a little uncomfortable to sit for awhile. So if you work and have to sit for 8 hours... then try to get more days off. School is more tolerable since its not for 8 hours a day. 3. Buy everything that is suggested on the post-op instructions sheet! They are all necessary! 4. Buy Benadryl! My stitches got a little itchy towards weeks 2-4 so sleeping was difficult. Thank you Dr. Goodman and your amazing staff :) You are all great!!!
