BodyTite: Definitely Not Worth It.
On the 27th of this month, October 2023, it will be one year of my BodyTite procedure. Originally I was more interested in doing Profound than BodyTite because I had seen in Realself some very bad results with BodyTite in the upper arms. I researched extensively in the area of Atlanta and I only found a small number of plastic surgeons who did Profound. There was a doctor with excellent reviews in Google and an impressive photo gallery of procedures using BodyTite, Dr. Brian Arslanian. I wanted to do Profound on the outside of my upper thighs to make them more even, on my upper underarms to make them tighter and on the bra rolls . Dr Arslanian said that the areas were too large to cover with topical anesthesia for the Profound treatment and that it would be very expensive. Since the pictures in his gallery where he had used BodyTite looked amazing, I agreed to do BodyTite , but I asked him not to do liposuction because I was already 69 and my skin was not tight anymore. He said that he needed to do some lipo to remove the dead fat from the BodyTite. When I came home, I was still not completely convinced about BodyTite. The next day I wrote an email to his surgical coordinator to let her know that I really wanted to do Profound and I did not think it would be more expensive than the $15,250.00 they had quoted me for Bodytite. She wrote back that in the doctor's opinion I would have better results with BodyTite. So I did it. The day of the surgery we decided to do the procedure just on the outer thighs and not on the inner (I am so happy now that we did not do the inner thighs!). When I came home and looked at my arms I noticed that the left underarm looked empty from the back of the shoulder to the middle of the back of the upper arm in contrast to the right arm. A couple of weeks after the procedure when the swelling started to subside I observed dark discoloration, a very noticeable caved-in area from the back of the shoulder to the back of my left arm, and lumps and cords on both arms. As time has passed, all this has become more and more noticeable. I have always been slim and have worked out since I was a teenager. My arms looked good and smooth and I was proud to show them, but I wanted more; I wanted tighter underarms. Now my arms are ruined. I cannot wear tank tops or sleeveless shirts anymore because I am embarrassed. My thighs came out about the same; there was not real improvement and the upper outer areas are still uneven. The bra rolls have improved. To summarize my BodyTite experience, I feel that I paid a lot of money to look worse. I just wanted to share my results with other mature ladies considering to do BodyTite on their upper arms.
BodyTite results at seven weeks post procedure
It has been now seven weeks since I had lipo and Bodytite on my upper arms and bra roll. I did lymphatic massage twice a day starting three weeks after the procedure and wore a compression garment 24 hours a day since the procedure. I just took the compression garment to do the massage and to shower. The back of my upper arms and the bra roll on both sides are still bumpy, uneven and mottled with dark grayish spots. I'm glad it is winter and my arms are covered because they look awful. At this point they definitely looked better before the procedure; at least they were even in texture and color, albeit some sagging in the under arm. The doctor I chose is well known in Atlanta with reviews and pictures that show excellent results. Maybe it is because of my age (69) that I'm not healing well, although I am in very good health and shape. Before I post the name of the doctor I used I'm going to wait the six months that most doctors recommend for final results. I would suggest to any lady wanting this procedure to do it in winter time. First, the compression garment 24 hours a day is hot and cumbersome. When you go out, you need to cover it with your clothes and it is easy with sweat shirts. And if your results are not what you expected (like in my case up to this point) you have a few months to get used to your new ugly arms without having to show them in public. I already started going to the gym and I hope this will help improve my results. I will write again at the six-month mark to let you know the final result.
Dark Grayish Areas After BodyTite with Liposuction
I am 69 years old and in great shape because I have worked out since I was 12. I'm 5"3' and weigh 115 ponds. My arms were kind of muscular in the front, but the underarm was already sagging. I decided to do BodyTite to make my underarms and bra roll tighter. My surgeon suggested that I also should do liposuction in conjunction with the BT to have better results. This coming Thursday the 24th will be a month since my procedure and I'm not really happy. The upper arms and the bra roll are bumpy with depressed areas and mottled with large dark grayish spots. I have been doing lymphatic massage twice a day, but I do not see any improvement. My arms were smooth with an even tone without any wrinkles and just a little sagging on the back. They were much nicer before the procedure. Supposedly they should look good at the six-week mark, but I don't think I will have that much recovery in the next two weeks. I will write again in a couple of weeks to update this review.
