Worked at First. A Year Later, Its Worse Than Ever.

I was 20 years old at the time I got the Kybella...

I was 20 years old at the time I got the Kybella shot. I have always been thin naturally, but I have struggled with the infamous genetic double chin. I felt I was too young to go under the knife so I opted to have the Kybella shot. The procedure itself was extremely easy. They doctor numbed the area and proceeded to give me a series of injections in the appropriate spots. The healing process was fairly easy as well. There was a good bit of swelling, which the doctor warned me would happen. I wore a scarf to work to cover it, which worked nicely. 2 months later, I saw significant results. I was extremely happy with them!
About 6 months in... I started to notice the return of some fat under my chin. I had not gained any weight. In fact, I had lost weight! Trying not to think much of it, I continued on with my life. However, within the last 2 months, I have seen a significant increase in the fat under my chin. I have not gained any fat. I have actually been on a strict work out routine of weight lifting. I have lost a good bit of fat and gained a good bit of muscle all throughout my body. So it makes no sense at all as to why I would have an increase in the fat under my chin.
Overall, I am very unhappy with the results. If I could do it all over again, I would save myself the money that I spent towards the Kybella and apply it towards getting the liposuction.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree that lipo would probably have lasted longer. I have a similar story and I'd bet so many on RS do too. When I think of all the money I spent on a thread lift and fillers over the years. Ugh. So glad I am finally lifted.
Of course! I just hope that my story can help others who have been through a similar situation or, even better, prevent someone from making the same mistake I did. It is extremely upsetting thinking of the money that was spent. Consumers work hard for their money. It is very upsetting to have to feel like that hard earned money has gone to waste.
Amy what ended up working for you?
I had lower FL. https://www.realself.com/user/140990 Wish I had money to have other things fixed. ;)
Oh wow. This happened to be too. And I went through 3 rounds of injections. Especially when I look down, it's worse than it ever was before Kybella. :(
I am sorry to hear that!! It is extremely upsetting to spend all of this time and effort just to be let down. I think I am going to be doing the laser lipo to remove the fat under my chin. Kim Kardashian did this and her jawline/under chin looks wonderful!
Sorry to hear.... my husband was given Kybella injections after a neck. A year later, 2 additional surgeries, a seroma, now this week a hematoma requiring a drain, wondering if Kybella played a role in all this.
I doubt it. It's not a poison like Botox. It's a naturally occurring acid in your body already.
Oh goodness! I hope he is recovering well! I am honestly not sure. I would ask your doctor if it could have played a role. Please keep me posted!
Seems odd since the fat cells are destroyed from kybella and filtered out through the body after its broken down by the body.
I think it's because the far is gone so now there is just lose skin. I wish I had never done it.
It isn't loose skin. I am 21 and my skin has great elasticity. Its an actual fat deposit under my chin and it is worse than what I had before.
The fat cells were not destroyed, clearly. Destroyed means gone. The fat came right back. That is how the website describes it, which seems promising; however, it is inaccurate.
The Kybella Website is horribly inaccurate. 1. It says it's for moderate to full chins. It is not. It is clearly more effective on small double chins. 2. The website does not indicate the swelling that many of us have experienced for weeks on end. The bull frog might only be 2-5 days, but the residual swelling to get back to baseline is more like 4 to 6 weeks. 3. The website forgets to mention it will take you a minimum of 4 months to see minimal results.

On my second vial and was so hopeful. I think a big problem with the reviews on this procedure is that no one follows through with their reviews like u did. Have you asked your dr about this!?
