WORTH IT
In October 2015 I fell and broke my ZMC (zygomaticomaxillary complex) meaning I fractured my cheek bone, the bone above my teeth and the floor of my orbit which holds my eye up. I went directly to the ER after a bad fall and they told my mom and I they did not have anyone on call and we would have to find a doctor the next day. Scared and confused, we asked a family friend who is a dentist for help. He referred us to an oral maxillary surgeon who then referred us to Dr. Soni. What a God send! Dr. Soni was extremely helpful and calmed our nerves. He helped find pain medication that didn't make me as sick leading up to surgery, and scheduled me in for surgery within 2 weeks of the fracture.
Fast forward to surgery day, Dr. Soni was extremely reassuring and helpful to both myself and my mom out in the waiting room. After the surgery, he gave extremely detailed instructions as for follow up care and answered his phone when I was crying at midnight for the nurse to call him for extra anti-nausea medication (He said it was okay - phew!). The surgery took longer than expected but he made sure to keep my mom informed in the waiting room as he knew she was very nervous!!
Since my surgery, I have had multiple medical professionals tell me Dr. Soni did an amazing job at reconstructing my face. I needed an insert to work as my orbital floor (to keep my eye level) as well as various plates put into my face. 6 months later and you can hardly see any scaring or asymmetry. Dr. Soni had to enter my face through 3 incisions and when I tell people I broke my face this year they NEVER believe me! I have no lingering symptoms or obvious deformities from the fracture or the surgery.
I could not be more thankful for Dr. Soni and his amazing staff for the professional, caring and above and beyond care they provided for me in a very scary time in my life. I would recommend him 2000% over and would definitely return to him in the future, for elective surgery this time....no more fractures please!
