I'm tired of wearing tons of makeup to cover my melasma. I'm a 42 year old Hispanic female with dark patches on my face. I have done 6 jessners peels and microdermabrasion with an esthetician. It has lightened it a bit but still not enough to get rid of the spots completely.Hoping this Tca peel works to lighten those spots. I wear sunscreen diligently and take really good care of my skin.

Hi! I also am hispanic with melasma problems and the Obagi System has helped me tons! It's not cheap. But in combination with Micro and peels it sure will help you. Good luck!

Thank you for the info! If this doesn't work I'm going to try Obagi next.

It's not about the frequency but the depth of peels because it's about which level of the skin that the peel can reach: General resurfacing issues like dullness: light peels, deeper scars and lines and tone (discolouration)issues: deeper. This is because the tone and uneven levels of the skin have formed in the deepest layers of your skin and therefore you need to affect these areas with the peel. Hope this helps. BTW - do you find the aquaphor helps?
March 10, 2016
Yes, you are right! I was hopeful the amount of peels I had already done would do the job but became frustrated after spending over 1000 and only getting small improvements. Aquaphor isn't very comforting to my skin, definitely helps with itchiness due to the skin healing.

Meant to say it is very comforting, dang autocorrect

Would you mind posting a pic of your skin before the treatment so we can see where the melisma was

Day 2

This is the second day after TCA 30% chemical peel, no pain just some mild inflammation under my eyes. Using Aquaphor as per my doctors instructions. No makeup, just letting it heal

I also live in Dallas and am considering a peel. I've never had anything like it before so I want to see if it is worth it, etc. I've heard there are milder percentages where you go back multiple times and there is a stronger one time treatment. Is that what you had?
March 9, 2016
I've done the milder ones, had 6 total spaced 3 weeks apart and was tired of the money spent and decided a stronger one would yield me greater results. This peel is considered a medium depth peel and can only be administered by a physician. The results are much better!
March 9, 2016
Good to know, because the person I'm seeing is recommending a series of the lesser strength ones. I want more aggressive, faster results but at the same time, want to be safe and not do damage by doing too much, too soon. Yes, I would never try this at home. I am seeing a doctor in Frisco area for Botox and he recommended it. I live in Dallas though, so I'd prefer to find someone closer.

I feel very confident with Christine Brown, I will keep posting progress pics so you can see and decide for yourself if this is what you want. I spent 200 each time for the lesser peels and after 6, I still could not get rid of my sun damage so my dermatologist recommended this peel.

Great! I'll be following! Thanks for the responses.

Day 3

Face has gone from very dark to reddish, looks like a bad sunburn, no discomfort though. Just keeping it clean and using aquaphor to soothe the dryness.

Your gonna love the results of the TCA peel. I did one and my skin looks great. The only thing that has worked for me. I had 3 weeks of looking like an idiot but it was worth it.
March 10, 2016
Thank you! That's very comforting to hear! I feel like a freak right now! I know it will be so worth it!
March 10, 2016
I did a 35%. It got rid of the darker sun damage spots I always hated. I tried retin a etc, and nothing worked. Now I just wear a little concealer under my eyes or some tinted moisturizer. Before I would wear full coverage foundation to hide all my brown spots. Not anymore.
March 10, 2016
Also like to add I have done several 15% TCA peels with no results.

Thank you for your post, makes me feel a whole lot better!
