It would be super helpful if you would post pics of your pre-surgery nose, so we have an idea for the changes Dr. Cochran made.

It looks great! I can tell he did a great job from your before profile pic. The front looks a little swollen still, I bet it's going to look even better at a year post.

My whole life I've talked about getting a nose job...
My whole life I've talked about getting a nose job. Every time I'd tell a friend they could never understand what the big deal was. I always found it funny that a pimple could set them off and make them feel self-conscious. I guess it's because that's exactly how I feel about my nose, but I live with it everyday. I'm finally in a positions where I can do the surgery and even had a couple consultation but now I'm scared. I've never had surgery, I'm 28 years old, healthy, with no medical issues but now fear is holding me back. I'm scared of something going wrong I've thought about every possible thing going wrong. I feel like I'm obsessing over it now and I haven't even done it. Do you obsess more after the surgery? I have realistic expectations about it but I don't want to make my nose an obsession in my life.

Well I just had my nose done a bit over a week ago and don't think there's much to be scared of. Of all the medical procedures I've had, including ears and lasik, thus was the least painful. Actually not painful at all. And now that I've done it I'll probably focus on other aspects of my appearance because I've ticked my nose off the list. Lol. I'm a little obsessed with looking at it and taking photos but pretty sure I'll forget about it after a while :) just choose a good surgeon and I'm sure you'll be happy with the outcome. But if you are insecure now you might still feel the same way in the future about something else.

I'm glad you are here sharing your story, but sorry you are having so much anxiety. I was really nervous, too, and was about your age. My surgeon had no where near the reputation yours does and I was still so glad I went through with it. Make sure you and your surgeon on are the same page about exactly what you do and don't want.
Please keep us posted!

I finally made up my mind and I'm doing it next month. Yes I'm still a little anxious, but I'm going to suck it up and move forward. I hope everything works out. I'm not looking for perfection for my nose I just want an improvement. I think going in with that mentality will help me. A lot of people go in thinking they're going to get a perfect nose from surgery, but I'm just looking for an improvement that enables me to breath better and I'm more comfortable with. As silly as it sounds I'm more scared of the functionality/structure of my nose not working the same than how my nose will look afterwards. I guess for me anything will be an improvement. I'm also not looking forward to recovery. I'm super active and gym junkie and since I don't want to slow down the healing I'm taking at least one month off from working out. I appreciate the comments. I know their's is some negative comments out there about surgeons but I think at the end of the day you just have to do research and go with your gut. My gut says pick Dr. Cochran. I might regret it I might not but I'll never know unless I try.

I'd guess something is wrong if you DON'T feel anxiety. I wish you all the best with your surgery.
