More Post Op Pics

Ok so these are 2 before pics and one month or so post op pics. The steri strips for my horizontal under the breast incisions had already fallen off so these pics only show the vertical ones. I've starting taking full showers again around 5/1. The lighter spot on there right nipple is where a gauze got a little too snug and the skin came off while I was changing it out, but that's no biggie it's healing just fine and will turn darker with the rest of my areola.

Ok so i have two threads going already so I want this review to be strictly about the procedure and my experience with Dr. Liland. If you want to track my insurance costs, reasons for the surgery and such you can do so here:

http://www.realself.com/forum/breast-reduction-costs-insurance-coverage-dr-recommendations-dallas1.

I had my surgery at 12:15 on 4/1/15 at Texas Institute for Surgery of Dallas. A week before the surgery, i went to Dr Liland to fill out my paperwork, get my prescriptions, and i also went to the Texas Institute for Surgery of Dallas for pre-lab work. The day of surgery i got there around 10:30 or 10:45 am (they want you to arrive around 2 hours early). Honestly, the hospital staff was very nice, they got me started on a IV had me change into the gowns, went over how things were going to go. After a while Dr Liland came in and marked me up and after that it was time to roll to the operating room. The only thing i remember is moving from the gurney to the table and then waking up, lol. Upon first waking up, i would say my pain was at a 7 out of 10. I was very drowsy and disoriented but i could hear people telling me i did good and how amazing everything looked. From there i went to the recovery unit and was there for about an hour and a half. I was given shots of pain medicine as needed. My sister helped me get dressed, they wheeled me to the car, and home i went. The next day I had to be back at Dr Liland's cause he wanted to make sure everything went ok overnight and i was told to bring a sports bra which i left in after he removed the dressings. The first week is the hardest! I was very sore and spent most of my time in bed resting except for going to the restroom and walking around the apartment to help with bloodflow. I would say after that first week my pain was about a 5 when not on medication. I started icing them around that second week as well to help with swelling. I had a follow up appointment at the end of the second week and Dr Liland said everything was healing well. My sutures were dis-solvable. I had them around the nipple, under the breast and the vertical line from the under the nipple to under the breast. I should also mention that I was a 42H and i did NOT have to have my nipples detached for the surgery, which was something i was worried about. Since then I've just been taking it easy and keeping up my followup appointments. This is by far the best decision I've ever made and Dr Liland was FANTASTIC. He said people in the OR and recovery area kept saying how i had the best boobs they'd ever seen, lol. If you are in the Dallas area and are considering having this procedure done, i strongly recommend Dr Liland. He was quick, professional, and i'm pleased with the aesthetics as well. My scars are very light and i think they will heal and fade away well....i hear so many horror stories about scars from others! Dr Liland thinks i'll end up a full C/small D, which is EXACTLY what i wanted. I'll initially put up my before and after pics but i will be adding more pics now that I don't have to wear the dressings (the leakage has stopped) and i still have two of my steri strips.

Friendly, quick, knowledgeable, i really didn't even have to say what i wanted, he said he would take good care of me and he did! He had a pretty good vision and I cant recommend him highly enough! Ive read some reviews where people think his bedside manner is lacking but that all depends on if you want to be hand held, lol. I didn't see anything wrong with his bedside manner but I could see how some people may think he's a little abrupt.
