Progress at Week 4

It's been 4 weeks since the surgery and I'm so HAPPY! My explant surgery went incredibly well, and the lift scars are fading away. My brachioplasty (upper arm lift) is healing slowly, but looking good! I had an emergency this week which required me to rush my dog to the vet, so I did cause a little bleeding under one of my armpits, but not much. Posting my 4 weeks pictures today, and girls - the steri-strips are off my areolas and there are NO visible scars (yay!). So happy with my surgeon and I met another one of his patients this week (2nd patient of his that I've met that is a cancer survivor) - we all agreed that Dr Perry and his staff are AWESOME!

Unexpected result of explant!

So a couple of neighbors (the ones that gave me those cute flowers) took me to the local organic grocery store on Saturday and I experienced the most amazing and unexpected occurrences! As I walked through the store (yes, pushing my own little mini cart), men kept walking by smiling and saying hello. I went back to get my organic arugula and realized the employee stocking the arugula was one of those men - he smiled, told me I smelled incredible and asked me what type of shampoo I used... on my way home, I asked my friends (both gay) what the heck was going on... Corey smiled and said 'for the first time in your life since you were 15 and a 36D, men are NOT looking at your chest first but at your face and seeing what a happy person you are'... I almost started crying! Because I wore a 12P / 14P top to cover my 36DD/38DD, I always saw myself as a large person. Over the past 2 weeks, my doctor and one of his assistants have referred to me as a very tiny person on different occassions... isn't it amazing how our self image can be so different than reality?! I am so happy with my tiny boobs!!!

Had a couple of bad days....

Ladies, even though you're feeling better... stay off the darn computer! I've been on my almost all day the past few days and then my arms swelled up horribly during the night the past 2 nights. Major pain and had to go back to doctor today... otherwise, all is good and I'm progressing well.

Dr. Perry and his staff are absolutely amazing! Dr Perry is a perfectionist (which I personally appreciate considering what he's doing :-) ). He did an incredible job on my actual surgery and he & his staff have been so accommodating over the past 3 weeks during my recovery. Honestly, I cannot say enough kind words about him and his staff. If you're in the DFW area and considering surgery, go in for a consultation and you will immediately understand where I (and all of his other patients that have reviewed him) are coming from! Take the time to look closely at our journey pictures and you'll begin to appreciate his dedication to his profession!
