After thinking about it for 10+ years, I have decided to have a breast augmentation (BA). Ever since high school, I noticed that I didn't develop like other girls (I'm about a 34 A). I thought my chest would grow in college, but never did. Overall I'm generally happy with my body, but always felt like I was "unbalanced" or disproportionate. I'm always embarrassed trying on swimsuits and would try to hide my chest in clothes... I told myself that I'm definitely booking a BA consult after I was done with grad school! It's hard to explain my decision to women who actually have breasts, but I just wanted to look like a "normal woman" and fill out my clothes better. I wanted to improve one part of my body that could only be fixed with surgery. Luckily all of my girlfriends, my sisters, husband, and mom support me with whatever decision I choose. I after researching different plastic surgeons in Dallas, I booked a consult with Dr. Ricardo Meade. He made me feel very comfortable, has excellent bedside manner, and is very personable. His medical assistant Angela is also very patient and understanding! Dr. Meade was my first and last consult. I told Dr. Meade I wanted a full B or small C (preferably). I didn't want to look "top heavy" or matronly due to my small frame. He decided on 340cc Extra High Profile silicone implants, under the muscle, due to my narrow frame. EHP means the “projection” the implant gives. It does not mean it gives it a more rounded look or that it's up higher on the breast. On surgery day, I changed into my surgical gown and socks, and met with the anesthesiologist and nurse. In the OR, I remember conversing with all of them for a few minutes... then I blacked out. Next thing I knew, I was in the Recovery Room. Another nurse informed me that my surgery went great, it lasted 1 hour, and I've been sleeping in the Recovery Room for 1 hour so far. My husband drove me home and took care of me. My medications were cephalexin (antibiotic), diazepam (muscle relaxant), zofran (anti-nausea) and hydrocodone (pain). The pain wasn't too bad for me, about a 4/10 scale, and I even stopped the hydrocodone after 3-4 days. Even though it's been 1-week, I'm already loving the results. My confidence has improved because I feel and look more like a proportionate woman. Dr. Meade is a gifted surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone.

I know it'll take months to fully heal and settle, but I wanted to try on a bikini top today for fun :)

Saw my doctor for my post op, my breasts are healing well. He recommends that I do more stretching and that I don't have to wear a bra now. Great! I do some yoga anyway, but I'll have to wear pasties (or petal covers) to protect my nipples.
My girlfriends think my outcome looks great so far. Very proportional, fits me and my body well, and most people wouldn't even think twice wondering if I've had an enhancement or not. They'd think it's natural (which is great!)
... But when my sisters saw me, they thought my breasts look "too normal" and "small." :/
One of my girlfriends said, "Who cares what they think? It only matters what you think." Honestly, I'm very happy with the results so far!!

Girls with natural boobs who say they look small don't know what it's like to have nothing! They do not look small at all, they fit your frame perfectly and look great in that bikini!

Thank you! Funny thing is, both of my sisters are also A-cups... but a lot of their friends have natural D's or have had surgery to end up as D's or DD's. I just didn't want to appear too heavy due to my small frame haha. Thanks!
