After suffering severe trauma to my nose many decades ago, and years later undergoing a very poor rhinoplasty procedure by an overzealous and unqualified ENT doctor which only made it worse, I was left unable to breathe through my nose and had a very unstable "deconstructed" nasal structure. Over the years I had consulted with several well-respected plastic surgeons and several "ear/nose/throat" surgeons who were not at all certain that they could repair my nose satisfactorily. When at last I learned of the Gunter Center where Dr. Jack Gunter (known as "the Dallas nose man") maintained a focused rhinoplasty specialty, with a solid reputation for being able to rebuild any nose, I scheduled with Dr. Gunter. He informed me that the repair and reconstruction work would not be as complex as I had feared and switched me over to his associate Dr. Spencer Cochran. Having previously been butchered by an unqualified surgeon, I was understandably very leary about having anyone other than Dr. Gunter work on me. However, after my consultation with Dr. Cochran, I found that I actually preferred him and was confidant that he could satisfactorily reverse and correct the damage to my nose. He shaved down displaced bone and scarring, straightened my septum, rebuilt the bridge/septum with cartilage grafts on the left and right sides, and reduced the turbinate tissue on both sides. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. I can finally breath like a normal person which has changed my life! All evidence of the initial injury and prior botched procedure is gone! I have had no distortion or problems at all during the healing process. I am completely satisfied with both the form and function of my nose, and more than happy with Dr. Cochran. I recommend Dr. Spencer Cochran to anyone in need of any kind of nasal surgery. In terms of skill, he is a rock star. He is also very personable, completely puts the patient at ease, and sticks with you til it's over. Obviously, it is his focus on rhinoplasty alone that distinguishes his expertise from all the other doctors out there.
